Objectives :
Equipment : a scheme, pictures on the topic, cards for reading, grammar cards and recording of the song « Yesterday».
PROCEDURE
Teacher : Good morning boys and girls. Glad to see you. Sit down. Are you ready to start?
Pupils : Yes, sure.
Teacher : So let’s begin ( Listening to the song «Yesterday»)
Nice tune, isn’t it?
Pupils: Yes, of course.
Teacher : Do you know what is it? Who is the singer?
Pupil 1 : Certainly, everybody knows it. It is the famous «Yesterday» written
and performed by the legendary group «Beatles» from Liverpool, Great Britain.
Teacher : So the plot of our lesson deals with one of the most popular arts of nowadays - music.
In the course of our lesson we’ll revise some words and expressions you will need for discussion. We’ll play some short dialogues concerning you tastes in music. We’ll do some exercises as far as reading and grammar are concerned.
Warming up
Teacher : Answer the questions.
Teacher : So music is one of the most popular arts nowadays.
To speak about music you will need some words and expressions. Make sure that you know them. Listen to my definition and give your English equivalents:
Teacher: Ok. The word of music is marvelous and appealing. Do you agree with me ? Do you like listening to music?
Pupils : Yes, sure.

People can’t live without music. They can listen to it everywhere even in the forest when they walk and hear birds’ singing.
Music can be classical and modern. Classical music is performed by symphonic orchestras, it is serious and requires good understanding. Some people, especially teenagers, think that classical music is boring and dull. But they are not right!
Most people prefer modem music. There are different kinds of modern music: pop, rock, disco, rap, techno and others. Young people like pop, disco and rap. Older people prefer jazz, rock and pop.
Teacher : Answer the questions.

Teacher : Jazz is a popular genre of music It is more important that jazz is listened and enjoyed all over the world. When the situation is like this we use Passive constructions in the sentences. So the task is fill in the gaps with necessary forms of the Passive voice.
