Good morning children! I am glad to see you. How are you? What day is it today? What season is it now? What is the weather like today? What is the temperature today? What colour is the sky? Is it raining? Do you like spring? What are the spring months?

Today we are going to speak about seasons and weather. As you know it is spring now.
But today something unusual will happen.
All four seasons - spring, summer, autumn and winter - will come to see us.

SPRING It is spring. Spring is a nice season. It is the first warm season. The weather is usually fine. Sometimes it rains but it is warm.. Forests, fields and trees in the parks, gardens and streets are green. The sun begins to get warm. The birds sing in the trees. After the long winter months children like springtime. They play in the yards and in the playgrounds.

SUMMER It is summer. In summer the weather is usually fine. Days are long and nights are short. Some days are hot. Trees are green. There are a lot of red, white, blue and yellow flowers in the fields, parks and squares. Schoolchildren have summer holidays. They do not go to school. They read books, play games, swim and help their parents. Children like summer very much. |

AUTUMN
It is autumn. In autumn it is cool. Cold weather begins. The sky is grey. Cold wind blows. It usually rains in autumn. Trees are yellow, red and brown. There are a lot of fruits in autumn. You can see apples on apple trees. Children like fruit. It is harvest time. School begins in autumn. |
WINTER It is winter. In winter the weather is usually cold. It snows in winter. Days are short and nights are long. Streets, houses and fields are white with snow. Children like to play snowballs and make snowmen. They ski and skate. In winter schoolchildren have holidays. They do not go to school. The first of January is New Year's Day. On this day they have New Year trees at home. They decorate the New Year trees with toys. They get presents. Children like winter holidays very much. |
