Australian families
85% of Australians live in a big towns or cities. Australian families
have usually got a house, two cars and a computer. The husband and wife work and they get about $ 60,000 a year from their jobs.
Australia is a big country but families are small. 23% of Australian houses have got one person in. 69% of houses have got two or more people in. 62% of families have got two children. There are usually one or two children in a family. 80% of children live with two parents but about 20% live with one parent.
A lot of children leave home when they are 18 or19. They go to the university or they get a job. They usually live with their friends and they go home to visit their parents at the weekend or during the holidays.
