«Лінгвістичний квест» з англійської мови

(позакласний захід для учнів 8-9-х класів)

 

Мета.  Підсилити мотивацію учнів, допомогти учням застосувати свої знання в новій ситуації, задіяти знання, які одержали діти в тій галузі знань, де вони почуваються найбільш впевнено та комфортно.

 

Матеріали та обладнання. Маршрутний лист, назви станцій, картки із завданнями, тенісні м'ячі, система оцінки.

 

Правила гри

 

«Лінгвістичний квест» має на меті проходження командами певної кількості етапів - “станцій”. Завдання команди - пересуваючись по маршруту від станції до станції набрати найбільшу кількість балів. Час, що витрачається командами на кожному етапі, строго не лімітується, але на користь учнів прийти до фінішу швидше, оскільки за це нараховуються додаткові бали.

Кожна команда перед початком гри отримує “маршрутний лист”, який виконує дві функції:

•         на ньому вказаний порядок проходження даною командою станцій
•         сюди старший по кожній станції - “доглядач” - виставляє кількість балів, отриманих на етапі.

Кількість станцій повинна відповідати кількості команд. Команди починають проходження маршруту з різних станцій і проходять всі станції, але в різному порядку, відбитому в маршрутних листах. Це робиться для того, щоб на одній станції одночасно не опинилося декілька команд. У нашому випадку гра проводилася у 9-му класі: 2 команди по 13 чоловік в кожній. На маршруті було організовано 9 станцій, при цьому 1-а команда проходила їх всіх по порядку від №1 до №9, 2-а команда - з №2 по №9, а потім №1 і тому подібне.

Приклади маршрутних листів наведені в Додатку 1.

Тематика станцій може варіюватися залежно від тем, які вивчалися, а завдання - ґрунтуватися на кругозорі дітей та знаннях, якими вони володіють. Станції можуть бути пов'язані з різними предметами, що вивчаються, і розташовуватися у відповідних кабінетах. Наприклад, станція “How sporty are you?” може знаходитися у спортивному залі, “Animal world” - в кабінеті біології і тому подібне. Пошук станцій додає грі додатковий інтерес.

Тривалість “квесту” залежить від кількості станцій. У нашому випадку він зайняв 1,5 години. Для проведення квесту буде потрібно стільки осіб (вчителів англійської мови і старшокласників), скільки станцій ви плануєте організувати. У завдання доглядача станції входить: дати завдання команді, підрахувати результат в балах і виставити його в маршрутний лист.

Підрахунок балів і визначення переможців відбувається після того, як всі команди пройшли маршрут і здали маршрутні листи на точку старту, де проголошується час прибуття. Команда, що прийшла першою, отримує додатково 5 балів, друга - 4 бали і так далі.

 

Станція №1 “The body”

 

Команда шикується в шеренгу. Учасники по черзі виконують елементи зарядки відповідно до інструкцій доглядача. Кожен учасник, що правильно виконав свою вправу, заробляє для команди 1 бал. Максимальна кількість балів: по числу вправ. В даному випадку - 15. Нижче приведені приклади вправ.

Touch your right heel with a finger of your left hand.

Raise your left leg, bend it and touch your right ankle with your toe.

Take your left wrist into your right hand and put your left hand on your waist.

Put your legs together, try not to bend them and touch your left heel with your right palm and your right heel with your left palm.

Raise your eyebrows, move your jaw and turn your head first right then left.

 

Станція №2 “How sporty are you?”

 

Протягом 2 хвилин команда повинна дати короткі відповіді на якомога більшу кількість питань по темі “Спорт”, заданих доглядачем. Після закінчення 2 хвилин команда отримує стільки тенісних м'ячиків, скільки правильних відповідей вони дали. Потім з відстані в декілька метрів представники команди повинні закинути ці м'ячі до кошика, що стоїть на підлозі. Число зароблених балів відповідатиме числу попадань.

Максимальна кількість балів: 20.

Name three adventure sports. (E.g. parachuting, mountain climbing, white water rafting).

What do you hit the ball over in tennis or volleyball? (Net).

What are members of a football team called? (Football players).

Name three individual sports. (E.g. gymnastics, running, swimming).

Who sees to it that hockey players follow the rules? (Referee).

What equipment do we need for table tennis? (Table, net, ball, bats).

 

Станція №3 “Crosswords”

 

Команда отримує кросворд, складений на основі пройденої лексики з певної теми, і повинна відгадати якомога більше слів. Кожне слово приносить команді 1 бал. Природньо, кросворди всіх команд повинні складатися з однакової кількості слів. Максимальна кількість балів відповідає кількості слів. Приклад кросворду з ключами міститься в Додатку 2.

 

Станція №4 “Famous cities”

 

На цій станції команда отримує 2 завдання.

 

1. Дано 5 назв столиць країн світу - назвати країни, або навпаки - дано 5 країн - назвати їх столиці. Картка із завданням може виглядати так:

2. Даний текст - опис міста, в якому є 10 фактичних помилок. їх необхідно знайти і виправити. Приклад тексту даний нижче. Ключ міститься в Додатку 2.

 

CAIRO

Cairo is situated in the middle of the impressive Sahara Desert. Although it’s one of the smallest cities in Africa, it’s a very important centre. This ancient city has become the capital of Egypt only recently. That’s why there are no modern buildings here yet. The population of the city speaks Egyptian.

Cairo is very popular among tourists. In the city they enjoy looking at the famous Sphinx. You can also visit the Egyptian Museum and see the wonderful treasure taken from the merchants’ sunk ships. Outside Cairo there are the monumental pyramids, one of the five wonders of the world. Tour guides will tell you a lot about these ancient buildings which were used as kings’ palaces in the past.

As for food, Cairo is a vegetarian city so its specialities are different kinds of salad.

Максимальна кількість балів: 5 за перше завдання + 10 за друге = 15.

 

 

Станція №5 “Transport”

 

Команда витягує картку з назвою виду транспорту і повинна назвати його переваги і недоліки - по 1 балу за кожен.

 

Станція №6 “How to be green”

 

Команда отримує текст з екологічної тематики з 10 фактичними помилками. За кожну виправлену помилку - 1 бал. Приклад тексту подано нижче.

There are a lot of problems connected with our environment and one of them is air pollution. People can’t live without carbon dioxide and only trees can produce it and absorb oxygen. But bikes and other vehicles pollute our atmosphere and we should try to reduce the number of them. Also, there are a lot of aerosols which destroy the ozone layer. But chemicals like Cfcs are not poisonous and if you see an aerosol with Cfcs in a shop, don’t be afraid to buy it.

If we want to have more fresh air, we should stop cutting down trees. If we don’t do it, the climate will change. Everyone knows that the world temperature is going down now and that is the reason why the sea level is going up.

Another problem is water pollution. A lot of factories pollute rivers and lakes with chemicals. But it isn’t very bad because fish and water animals breed better in such water.

To produce electricity people build different kinds of power stations. The best one is nuclear power stations because they are clean and safe. There haven’t been any accidents so far. There are a lot of power stations nowadays so you don’t have to worry about saving electricity.

People need more and more space for their cities. Destroying forests is a bad idea but we can dry marshes which are useless for the environment.

Although protecting the environment is very important, there are no organisations which do this.

 

Станція №7 “Ancient civilisations”

 

Команда витягує картку з назвою цивілізації (The ancient Egyptians / The ancient Chinese / The Aztecs / the Vikings) і повинні в списку винаходів, відкриттів, термінів вибрати ті, що відносяться до цієї цивілізації. Відповідь повинна бути повним реченням, наприклад Pyramids were built by the ancient Egyptians.

Команда отримує 2 бали за кожний правильний вислів.

Максимальна кількість балів: 8 пунктів по 2 бали =16.

Команда отримує 2 набори по 5 анаграм і повинна розшифрувати слова з теми “Тварини”. Це можуть бути назви тварин, частини тіла, житла і ін. Потім в кожному наборі слів потрібно знайти зайве слово і пояснити принцип, за яким воно виділене.

 

Підрахунок балів: по 1 за кожну розшифровану анаграму (тобто максимум 8) + по 1 балу за знайдене і пояснене зайве слово. Таким чином, максимум - 10 балів

Станція №9 “Story-telling”

 

Команда отримує початок історії і 6 слів, які необхідно використати (форму слів можна міняти). Порадившись не більше 5 хвилин, команда повинна розповісти історію до кінця.

 

Максимум - 16 балів: 6 - по 1 за кожне влучно використане задане слово + 5 за зміст історії і 5 - за грамотність.
