The benefits of sports are undeniable. They create camaraderie among teammates, teach valuable life lessons, and promote healthy, active living. So, it's not surprising, that lots of children from Zaporizhzhia play competitive sports . There is a High Sports School, 15 specialized youth schools of Olympic reserve, 50 youth sports schools, 7 youth clubs of physical training in the region. There are more than 320 sports clubs and sections in Zaporizhzhia and more than 92 ones in Voznesenivsky district. Descendants of the cossacks have got 10 swimming pools, 18spacious gyms and 12 large stadiums, too.

The Slavutych Arena (Ukrainian: Славутич-Арена) is located on the left-bank of Dnieper near the well known Dnieper Hydro-Electric Station and the Metallurgists Park in the picturesque part of Zaporizhzhia on Lobanovsky 21street and it is one of the most impressive sporting arenas.
Built on the site of the old Central Stadium Metalurh (or Metalurh Stadium) which was one of the first sports complexes in Zaporozhzhia, it was opened in 2006. This modern attractive stadium has seating for 12,000 people, a huge TV screen, multimedia projectors, microphones, mixing console, flip chart
a grass pitch, two conference rooms and private boxes. For the spectators, an excellent view of the action is guaranteed.
The stadium has hosted some of the Ukrainian biggest events. These include the 2010 Ukrainian Super Cup final between Shakhtar Donetsk and Tavriya Simferopol and the 2019 Ukrainian Cup Final between Shakhtar Donetsk and Inhulets Petrove. Many other sports and rock and pop concerts are held there too.
With its impressive appearance and state-of – the-art features, the Slavutych Arena is one of the most wonderful venues for sporting events in Zaporizhzhia and Ukraine. Indeed, as anyone who has been there will tell you, the experience is something you will never forget.

Today, it’s mainly an indoor game (there are outdoor options though) played in teams of seven. The aim is to move the ball through the hands to try and score in the opponent’s goal. It’s a contact sport, but there are alternatives, and it’s just as enjoyable if you’re looking to play for fun, or if you want to take it seriously. It’ll give you a good workout, and it’s great for working on different muscles and areas of fitness. Add in the teamwork elements, and you’ve got a great all-round sport. If you want to take it further, it’s got great support for developing players
