Form: 11(2 grade)

Objectives:

to revise student’s vocabulary on the topic Music;

to develop speaking ,reading and listening skills

to develop student’s quick reaction;

to teach pupils to co-operate in group work;

to develop student’s ability to learn and understand English language

to develop creative competence

Outcomes:

Student will be able to demonstrate the ability to apply knowledge

Мета: Створити умови для розвитку самостійної, творчо мислячої особистості;

активізувати мовленнєву діяльність;

Формувати вміння працювати в команді, допомагати один одному.

Задачі:

Освітні: організувати діяльність учнів з повторення і активізації лексичного матеріалу теми; удосконалювати вміння і навички говоріння, аудіювання, читання та письма. Навчати презентувати свою роботу, працювати в команді

Розвиваючі: розвивати логічне мислення, активність, увагу, пам'ять; сприяти формуванню комунікативних навичок і умінь, пізнавального інтересу до даної теми; розвивати вміння розуміти зміст іншомовного тексту, виділяти необхідну інформацію.

Виховна: сприяти вихованню шанобливого, толерантного ставлення до іншої культури; виховувати позитивне ставлення до вивчення англійської мови.

Корекційна: збагачувати словник, коригувати вимову

Good day! Dear pupils and guests! You are welcome at our lesson! Today the topic of our lesson is music. . Music is the source of our inspiration! And today we will enjoy the best pieces of music. Communicate with each other. And also we have a great opportunity to compete!

T: Now, we’re going to read the text ‘Pop styles’

POP STYLES

Blues traditional black American music. "Blue" means "sad", and many blues songs are about how hard life was for black people.

Gospel religious music sung in churches in the southern USA.

Rhythm and Blues black workers in the USA moved from the farms to the Cities. They played the blues with electric guitars — this became "rhythm and blues".

Country and Western the music of poor white Americans in the 1930 and 1940s. It is still the most popular music in the southern USA.

Rock'n'Roll many radio stations in the USA in the 1950s would not play "black" music. Elvis Presley was one of the first white singers to mix "rhythm and blues" and "country and western". The result was rock'n'roll.

Soul a mixture of "gospel" and "rhythm and blues". The most successful soul singers are probably Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

Heavy Metal a style based on "rhythm and blues", but with the instruments amplified so that they are extremely loud. Led Zeppelin was one of the first group to do this.

Reggae this started in Jamaica. It is a mixture of American styles "rhythm and blues". Bob Marley made it popular.

Rap in the 1980s, disc-jockeys in dance clubs began half singing and half talking over instrumental music — and "rap" music was born.

House 1990s dance music based on very fast rhythms and modern electronic sounds. There are now various sub-styles of "house music", such as "techno pop", "trance" and "jungle".

While listening you are to write down the words/phrases which come to your mind or try to draw a picture.

What have you imagined while listening to the music?

(Pupils read the words/phrases they have written and describe the pictures they’ve drawn.)

VIII Listening.

We will listen to (watch video) the song and each team must do the tasks.(Students have cards with the tasks)

Учні отримують картки з зображенням музичних інструментів.

З кожної команди обирають два учасники, які без слів повинні зобразити музичний інструмент. Хто вгадує – отримує бал.

IX And the final task. You Have the staff and notes express your impression (write on the note and hang on the staff. If you mark is low- hang on the lower line. If your mark is high- hang on the higher line)
