Good morning, students! I’m glad to see you! How are you today?

2. Introduction. Topic and aims. Введення в іншомовну атмосферу. Ознайомлення з темою та метою уроку.

Let’s start our live online-lesson. As you see, today we’ve got the new unit – «Job hunting». Let’s discuss the meaning of the unit title. (In English, job hunting is often used to mean actively looking for a job. The unit will look at ways of finding a job.)

How do you think what are we going to talk about? (відповіді учнів)

Yes, we are going to talk about jobs and careers, about personal qualities and unusual jobs. Moreover, we’re talking about obligation, prohibition and advice using modal verbs.

So, open your exercise-books and write down the day, date, class-work and our topic. (Wednesday, the 28^th of April, «Jobs and work. Unusual jobs»)

By the end of our lesson you’ll be able to:

• talk about jobs and skills using modal verbs
• understand the text about unusual jobs
• make polite requests and give advice

3. Motivation. Мотивація навчання

I think it’s a really important topic, especially for you, as teenagers. You are finishing our vocational school this year, you are just in the beginning of your life and you have to think really carefully about your future career, because your life actually depends on it. It depends also on your choice of what you will do to earn money for your living or to have more fun, or maybe you’ll be able to combine your hobby and your career.

So, before we start, we need some Vocabulary. Let’s do it in such a way.

Let’s remember the names of the professions (учні дають назви відомих професій). Thank you. OK, pupils, let’s move on!

At the previous lesson I asked you to learn some more words using online-service «Quizlet». I hope, you are ready with them (продемонструвати).

Let’s look at the Personal qualities in ex.5, p.84. You have to complete the sentences with the words from the box. Focus your attention on the example sentence.

                Now listen to four people describing their jobs. What jobs do you think they are? (ex.6, p.84)

                Do you know what is the difference between job and work?

               Job and work have the same meaning. Job is countable and work, in most cases, is uncountable.  Therefore, work rarely comes after a or a number, and it is rarely used in the plural.

              Focus your attention on the photos. Can you predict what the text might be about?

Read a message board about three people who have unusual jobs. Match each person with the correct         photo.
