Розробка позакласного заходуEnglish Party

Teacher: Dear children, teachers and guests!

Welcome to our English party. It is devoted to twelve months and to our life. We are of different appearances, of different age and life experiences. But one thing is in common. That is our love to our school and, of course, English. As we are all here together, I think English is our mutual hobby.

Children :

Everybody has a hobby.

But we’ve got a common one.

English does attract us

More than stamps and actors

And it is great fun

Learning English, learning English

That’s the hobby that we share.

We are fond of learning English which is spoken everywhere.

Teacher: Children, do you know what must we do if we want to know English?

Children: If we want to know English

                We must work every day.

We must read, we must write,

We must listen and also play.

Try to think and then to speak,

                Improve pronunciation,

                Learn the rhymes and limericks,

                Master conversation.

Teacher: That’s right, kids. And today we will continue our learning process. We’ll make it in a form of an imaginary journey. Can you guess what means of transport we will take?

(Children make guesses)

Certainly, we’ll travel by train. We all like this kind of transport. We can sit and look through the window, sing and see our beautiful land created by God.

Shall we sing together?

(Music by V. Shainskyi, lyrics by E. Uspenskyi, translated by I. Cherepanova)

Slowly the minutes go far away,

And you don’t meet them any more.

Though “the past was better”, one can often say,

Better life is FUTURE, not before.

Refrain: Faster along the way

              Goes a blue train ahead

              Up to the horizon spreads

              Railway like a cloth

We know for sure a day

              Will be happy again

Soon it will come of course

              Fast goes our train

You may have offended someone nothing for,

Calendar will hide that awful sheet

Wonderful adventures are for us in store,

Dear driver, let’s pick up the speed!

Refrain

Our train is rocking, going very fast,

Our train is picking up the speed.

It’s a pity that the day has gone at last,

Let it last as long as all we need

Refrain

Teacher: Dear children, what mustn’t we forget to take with us?

Pupil 1: The fruitage of the spirit

T.: What are they?

Ps: LOVE, JOY, PEACE, LONG-SUFFERING, KINDNESS, FAITH, MILDERNESS and SELF-CONTROL.

T.: And if you have these qualities, you will live in friendship.

( A song “Friendship”)

The more we are together, together, together

The more we are together, the happier we’ll be

‘Coz your friends are my friends,

And my friends are your friends

Oh the more we are together, the happier we’ll be

P.2  Friendship is a thing for two,

Three or four or even more

Like a song we like to sing

         Friendship is  doing things

Together, together, together every day

Together, together we work and play

T.: What mustn’t we forget to do when we meet each other or other people?

Ps: We must greet.

Ps: We may say “Hello”, “Hi”, “Good morning”, “Good evening”, “Good afternoon”

T.: What else should we do?

Ps: We should give a sunny, friendly, open smile

I know that this song is one of your favourite, so sing along with…

“Smile” by Michael Jackson

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by

If you smile
With your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just

Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just

Smile, though your heart is aching
Smile, even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky
You'll get by

T.: When do all children begin their educational journey?

P.3: In September, first autumn month

In the days of September

As you, of course, remember

There is less time for fun

For our school has begun

P.4.: Mind the clock and keep the rule

Try to come in time to school

Early to bed, early to rise

Makes a man healthy, wealthy and wise

P.5.: Work while you work

Play while you play

This is the way to be happy and gay

All that you do, do with all might.

Things done by halves are never done right

T.: What comes after September?

P.6: October is the second autumn month. The days become shorter and the nights longer. The leaves are yellow, red and brown. They are slowly falling down.

P.7: After October November comes. The trees are bare. There is mist in the garden and frost in the air.

T.: What comes after autumn.

P. 8: Winter does. December, January and February are the coldest months in a year. But the merriest. There are a lot of holidays like Christmas, New Year, St. Valentine’s Day.

T.: What is the opposite season to autumn?

P.9: It is spring.  There are three spring brothers, March, April and May. The days become longer and longer. It is warmer and warmer with every day.

P. 10: And the brightest and the hottest season of all is summer. June, July and August are summer months. All children in the world love this season most of all.

There are flowers, mushrooms and berries in the forest.

T: Each season, each month comes one by one. But they say, that on New Year’s Eve they get together…

“Twelve Months”

Story-teller: Once upon a time in a faraway northern land there lived a queen. On New Year’s Eve she wished for a basket full of snowdrops to be brought to her palace. The queen promised a lot of gold for it. In the Kingdom there lived a woman with two daughters. One of them was her own daughter, and she loved the girl dearly. The other was her step-daughter who she hated. The cruel woman sent her step-daughter to the forest and told her not to come back without flowers.

(In the forest)

Step-daughter: Hello, Hare! Hello, Squirrel!

Hare: Hello, darling. What are you doing here so late on such a cold winter day?

Step-daughter: I’m freezing, A chilly wind is blowing, it’s heavily snowing.

Sq.: You aren’t dressed for the weather. Your coat isn’t warm enough.

Hare: Hush! I can hear something. I see some people over there. They are sitting around the fire.

(Near the fire)

Twelve Months: January with cold is set.

                           February is chill and wet

                           March wind often rages

                           In April the weather changes

                           Pretty flowers come in May

                           Sunny June brings longest day

In hot July the skies are clear

Then August with corn is here

The fruit September opens the way

                           October sweeps the leaves away.

                          Next enters grey November,

                           And lastly, snowy December

Step-daughter: Good evening. May I sit near your fire and get warm?

December: Make yourself at home, little beauty. What are you doing here?

August: Aren’t you picking mushrooms?

July: Aren’t you picking berries?

May: Aren’t you picking flowers?

Months: ha-ha-ha

Step-daughter: It isn’t a joke. My step-mother sent me to pick up snowdrops. The queen promised a reward for them. What shall I do?

May: But why? Everything is good in its season.

April: It isn’t time for snowdrops yet.

December: I know her, she is a very good girl. I often meet her. She comes to the forest to gather dry sticks. It was so cold and windy but she was cheerful.

August: I saw her in summer. She picked berries but never did any harm to the forest.

October: She came here last autumn to pick mushrooms. It rained cats and dogs. But she remained cheerful.

November: You’re right, brother. Winter brings us snowflakes

Spring – green buds and shoots

                                                     Summer brings us berries

                                                     Autumn – golden fruit

February: I saw her feeding birds in winter. Grey was the sky and the wind was chill.

January: Well, darling, we’ll bring you spring if you solve the riddle:

A little old woman with twelve children: some short, some long, some cold, some hot. What is this?

Step-daughter: I know! It’s a year!

Squirrel: Look! The snow is melting, the wind isn’t blowing, the streams are running, the sun is shining!

Hare: The birds are singing! The spring is coming!

Stepdaughter: Oh, dear! Lots of snowdrops! I’ve never seen so many flowers. You’ve saved me, brother-months!

September: Hurry up! Hurry up, my dear!

October: Make hay while the sun shines.

March: But don’t tell anyone about it, about us.

Step-daughter: I promise to keep it a secret. I’m so grateful to all of you! Thank you so much for the spring you’ve brought in the middle of winter, thank you for these beautiful snowdrops!

April: I’m sorry, dear girl, but it’s time for you to go home.

January: Take this magic ring, put it on your finger. If you need our help again, drop the ring and say: Thirty days has September,

                                    April, June and November

                                    All the rest have thirty-one

                                    Except February alone

December: And you’ll have a chance to see all of us. Good luck to you!

All months: Good bye, honey!

Step-daughter: Good bye, brother-months

Teacher: Our English party is over. Thank you all for attention!
