PUPIL:

How do you do dear guests?

We are very glad to see you here, because spring is coming and everybody is happy to welcome it.

SONG:

We are glad to meet again

If it snows, if it rains

It doesn’t matter,

It doesn’t matter.

Hurry up! Don’t be late!

We shall act and then play,

we shall sing, we shall dance,

we shall poems recite.

PUPIL:

In March, April, May the days become longer and the nights are shorter. Spring is the morning of the year. Everything looks fresh and new in spring

PUPIL:

I shall open wide my window,

Letting in the laughing breeze,

That is telling happy stories

To the fields and to the trees.

For the spring, the spring is coming.

It’s good bye to all the snow.

yes, I know it for the swallows

Have come back to tell me so.

PUPIL:

In spring the weather becomes warmer. The snow melts. The sun shines brighter than in winter. The sky is blue. The weather is not stable in spring. Sometimes it is windy and rainy but mostly it is warm and sunny. I like the weather in spring.

PUPIL:

In the spring, in the spring

Sweet and fresh is everything

Winter winds and no more blowing,

In the fields all is growing

In the spring, in the spring

Sweet and fresh is everything.

PUPIL:

It’s really so. In the spring nature awakens from its winter sleep. Everything is full of joy. The trees and grass become green. The birds come back from the warm countries.

SONG:

Spring is here, say bye to snow

Spring is here, see the flowers grow

Time to sow your crops you see

Busiest time for the honey bee

Hear the birds sing a song

Spring is here let us play along

PUPIL:

Yes, it’s true. Spring is a wonderful season. When everything begins to grow. When it’s getting warmer and warmer. Let’s say “Good bye!” to winter, when

The snow is falling,

The wind is blowing,

The ground is white

(All together)

All day and all night.

ALL TOGETHER:

GOOD BYE, WINTER!

PUPIL:

And let’s say “Welcome spring!”, when

The sun is shining,

The flowers are blooming,

The sky is blue,

(All together)

The rains are few.

All together:

WELCOME! WELCOME! WELCOME, SPRING!

SPRING:

You’ve called me. And here I am.

My dear! I am so glad to see you in this hall. I’ve taken with me all my friends:

animals and birds,

trees and flowers,

boys and girls,

young farmers!

So I invite them all to this stage.

Group 1(BIRDS)

Spring is coming! Spring is coming!

Birdies build your nests,

We’ve together straw and feather

Doing each your best.

Group 2(FLOWERS):

Spring is coming! Spring is coming!

Flowers are coming too.

Pansies, lilies, daffodils,

Now are coming through.

Group 3(FARMERS):

Spring is coming! Spring is coming!

All around is fair.

Shimmer and quiver on the river.

Joy is everywhere!

ALL TOGETHER:

Joy is everywhere!

The bells of song are ringing

Are ringing loud and gay

By hill and dale they’re flinging

Sweet melody today.

PUPIL :

Children like spring very much. They make bird houses, they do the gardening, they plant trees, bushes and flowers. They enjoy working in the gardens. They pick flowers. Boys play football and other games. Girls like to play hopscotch and badminton. Spring sports and fresh air make us healthy and strong.

PUPIL :

Spring is the season

When snowdrops bloom

When nobody likes

To stay in the room.

This is the season

When birds make their nests

This is the season

We all like best.

PUPIL:

Rain, rain, April rain,

You are feeding seed grain,

You are raising plants and crops

With your gaily sparkling drops.

SONG:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LFrKYjrIDs8

Listen, listen, listen to the rain!

Tapping, tapping on the window pain.

Listen, listen, listen to the rain!

Tapping, tapping on the window pain.

Rain, rain, go away!

Come again another day!

Little Johnny,Little Johnny,

Little Johnny wants to play!

PUPIL:

The birds are returning

Their sings feel the air

And meadows are smiling

With blossoms so fair.

PART ll

SPRING:

Isn’t nice? But we forgot about flowers. Without them it won’t be so lovely and beautiful. So let me introduce the spring flowers. They are my great friends.

QUEEN:

My dear flowers! Spring is here! When do you come to the garden and fields?

FLOWERS:

We are coming! We are coming!

QUEEN:

Who is coming first?

SNOWDROP:

I am the first to come. I come when the snow is on the ground. I have a white dress. My name is Snowdrop. Don’t you think I am pretty?

VIOLET:

And I come next. I don’t like snow. It is cold when the snow is on the ground. I like warm days. my dress is violet. And now you surely know that I’m Violet.

Sweet and fresh are violets

On every hill and dell,

And Oh, how beautiful they are!

How lovely do they smell!

LILY of the VALLEY:

My name is Lily of the Valley. I think you all like my white bells.

DAFFODIL:

I come next. I’m yellow like the sun. I like to dance in the wind. My name is daffodil.

Once walking in the hills

you’ll see a lot of daffodils,

Beside the lake, beneath the trees

Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.

BUTTERCUP:

I am the last to come in spring. I have a pretty yellow dress too. My name is Buttercup

Buttercups here, Buttercups there,

Buttercups growing everywhere.

Across the meadow and up the hill

My golden loveliness I spill.

SPRING:

Well, well, well…It seems to me we forgot about  one more spring flower. It is a friend of the sun. There is an interesting story about it appearing. Let’s listen to it…

THE FRIENDS OF THE SUN

AUTHOR:

Every day the Sun shone in the sky. Every night the Moon shone in the sky. One day the Moon said to the S un

MOON:

You are bright. You are brighter than me. But you are alone in the sky. I am not alone. There are many stars in the sky. They are my little friends. They twinkle and smile at me. They like me and I like them very much.

AUTHOR:

The bright Sun was very sad. He wanted to have as many friends as the Moon. One day Spring noticed that the Sun was sad.

SPRING:

Why are you sad?

SUN:

I am bright, but I’m alone in the sky. The Moon has many friends. The stars are the Moon friends.

SPRING:

Well. I can help you. You will have many friends and they will love you very much.

AUTHOR:

Next morning when the Sun rose in the sky he saw many bright  yellow flowers. Now they grow in the parks, in the yards, in the streets and in the gardens. They are called dandelions. The Sun loves them and they are blooming when the Sun shines.

DANDELION:

I am yellow

Little fellow

When I’m old I’m grey.

If you shake me

You can make me

Flying far away.

CHILD:

Oh, dandelion, yellow as gold

What do you do all day?

DANDELION:

I just wait in the green grass

Till the children come to play.

CHILD:

Oh, dandelion, yellow as gold

What do you do all night?

DANDELION:

I wait and wait till dew falls

And my hair grows long and white.

CHILD:

And what do you do dandelion

When the children come to play?

DANDELION:

They take me in the little hands

And blow me far away.

QUEEN:

Thank you, dear flowers. I see you know the time you have to come. So hurry up to the gardens and fields and make them beautiful. And we, children, must take care of flowers and do not forget to water them. Now listen to the story how the flowers need watering.

lll PART

Setting 1. It's evening. Mary and her brother are in a lovely garden with pretty flowers. Mary is watering the flowers.

MARY:

I say, Dick, it’s your turn to water the flowers tomorrow morning. Do you remember that?

DICK:

Of course, I do! You needn’t tell it again.

MARY:

All right. we’ll see. But keep in mind you should water them early before the sun gets hot. Otherwise they will fade

DICK:

Don’t worry, Mary. I’ll come in time and water your dear flowers.

MARY:

Don’t say that. Aren’t they yours as well?

DICK:

OK! I’ll water OUR flowers in OUR lovely garden (leaving…)

Setting 2. Dick is fast asleep.

CLOCK:

Tick-tock! Tick-tock!

It’s time to get up, Dick!

Tick-tock! Tick-tock!

Get up and be quick, Dick

DICK:

Leave me alone! Don’t you see I’m sleepy?

SUNRAY:

(looking into the room)

The sun is rising, out of bed,

And in the East the sky is red.

Wake up, you, sleepy head!

And jump quickly out of bed.

DICK: Go away! Leave me alone! I want to sleep…

BIRD:

(hopping the room)

Get up little child!

The morning is bright!

The birds are all singing

To welcome the light.

DICK:

You! Go away too! I won’t get up now - I am sleepy!

MOTHER

(coming into the room)

Get up, my sweet darling!

In the morning light

All the trees and flowers

Look so gay and bright!

DICK:

(jumping out of the bed)

What? Oh, dear me! I must water the flowers before the sun gets hot! (he dresses quickly and runs away)

Setting 3. The flowers are talking in the garden:

ROSE:

I say, dear friends, isn’t it time to have our morning tea?

TULIP:

Oh, yes! I wonder what has happened to Mary& She is never late!

DAISY:

Perhaps, she is ill and won’t come at all today…

PANSY:

No,no. I heard Mary and Dick talking yesterday. They agreed that Dick would water us today.

POPPY:

I see…but what shall we do? We’ll fade if he doesn’t come and give us water.

BLUEBELL:

Water! Water! Give us water!

ALL FLOWERS:

Water! Water! We want watering.

MARY:

(appearing) Oh, dear me! Oh, dear me! Dick hasn’t come, of course. My poor flowers… Just a moment. I’ll give you some water (watering them). Drink as much as you want.

ALL FLOWERS:

Thank you, dear Mary for your help and care. We love you so dearly. When we grow up we’ll make your garden gay and bright.

DICK:

Sorry, sister, I’m a bit late. I’m water the flowers now.

MARY:

Shame on you, Dick. I’ve already done it instead of you.

DICK:

Then everything is all right, I suppose.

MARY:

I don’t think so…Now I’ll never ask you again to water the flowers.

QUEEN:

Certainly, Dick was not right. Flowers do not only make our gardens bright and beautiful. They also can help us in many ways.

Like a seed I’m sprouting out, I’m bursting into life

Like a seed I’m sprouting out, I’m bursting into life

So take two steps left and two steps right, turn around shout “I’m alive!”

Touch your toes then jump up high, celebrate now it’s springtime!

Like a bud I’m opening up, I’m bursting into life

Like a bud I’m opening up, I’m bursting into life

So take two steps left and two steps right, turn around shout “I’m alive!”

Touch your toes then jump up high, celebrate now it’s springtime!

Like an egg I’m hatching out, I’m bursting into life

Like an egg I’m hatching out, I’m bursting into life

So take two steps left and two steps right, turn around shout “I’m alive!”

Touch your toes then jump up high, celebrate now it’s springtime!

Celebrate now it’s springtime!

Celebrate now it’s springtime!

Celebrate now it’s springtime!

PUPIL :

And what nature signs of spring coming can you call? Let’s ask about these the Voices of Nature

VOICE 1:

March winds and April showers

Bring forth May flowers

VOICE 2:

Mackerel sky, Mackerel sky,

Not long wet and not long dry.

VOICE 3:

A sunshiny shower

Won’t last half an hour.

VOICE 4:

When the dew is on the grass

rain will never come to pass.

VOICE 5:

Red sky at night, shepherd’s delight,

red sky in the morning, shepherd’s warning.

VOICE 6:

when clouds appear like rocks and towers

The Earth is freshed by frequent flowers.

VOICE 7:

If bees stay at home, rain will soon come. If they fly away - fine will be the day.

VOICE 8:

Evening red and morning grey,

Send the traveler on his way

Evening grey and morning red

Bring the rain upon his head.

VOICE 9:

A swarm of bees in May

Is worth a load of hay

A swarm of bees in June

Is worth a silver spoon.

A swarm of bees in July

Is worth a fly.

SPRING:

Super! You know nature signs very well! And you see spring is the most beautiful season of the year, when everything begins to grow, when trees and grass are green.

PUPIL:

Spring has come, the spring is here.

How it’s beautiful, oh dear!

And my head begins to dream

Cause I love you early spring!

PUPIL:

Air fresh, the birdies sing

Greeting you the charming spring.

Happy children play and swing,

Have the fun. I love the spring!

PUPIL:

It’s high time for daffodils,

Tulips, poppies in the hills,

Smelling lilac and sift grass

Spring presents them all of us!

PUPIL:

April’s rains are short and warm,

Wait in May a thunder storm,

Days are long, the sky is clean

We are waiting for the spring!

SPRING:

Dear guests, my friends, animals and birds, flowers and plants! How I happy to come and to see all of you on this holiday!

I wish you GOOD SPRING AND HAPPY DAYS
