Позакласний захід з англійської мови.

Назва: «Intellectual Marathon».

Форма проведення: гра-змагання.

Клас: 5

 

Було обрано ігрову форму проведення заходу тому, що гра є одним з ефективних способів залучення учнів до культури країн мови, що вивчається. У грі завжди передбачається вирішення: як вчинити, що сказати, як виграти.

Кожен конкурс був присвячений тій або іншій темі, що сприяло більш міцному засвоєнню програмного матеріалу, формуванню і закріпленню в учнів навичок іншомовної мови.

Робота в командах сприяє формуванню в учнів таких позитивних особистісних якостей, як доброзичливість, відповідальність, почуття взаємодопомоги. Успіх одного - успіх всієї команди, а успіх всієї команди - успіх одного. Виконання завдань займає небагато часу і дозволяє перевірити одночасно всіх учнів, які поставлені в рівні умови, тобто працюють в один і той же час з однаковим за обсягом і складності матеріалом. Почуття рівності, атмосфера захопленості дають можливість учням подолати сором'язливість, скутість, зняти мовний бар'єр.

Завдяки грі учні мають можливість розширити межі своїх знань в області географії, культури, історії країн досліджуваної мови.

Цілі гри:

1. Розвивати  вимову учнів.

2. Розвивати креативні здібності учнів.

3.Виховувати інтерес до вивчення предмета.

4.Узагальнити країнознавчі знання учнів, отримані на уроках англійської мови.

Освітні завдання:

В ході творчої, самостійної, індивідуальної та групової роботи з дидактичними матеріалами закріпити знання учнів по вивченим темам («Традиції Великобританії», «Відомі люди Англії», «СК Великобританії та Північної Ірландії» та ін) і розширити загальний кругозір.

 

Розвиваючі завдання:

1.Розвивати вміння працювати в колективі та приймати спільне рішення;

2.Розвивати позитивні особистісні якості (відповідальність, доброзичливість, почуття взаємодопомоги).

3. Розвивати і тренувати увагу, пам'ять, мислення.

 

Виховні завдання:

1. Виховувати повагу до культури своєї країни та країн мови, що вивчається.

 

Оформлення кабінету:

На дошці назва гри «Інтелектуальний марафон» ( «Around Great Britain»), прапори англомовних країн, карта СК Великої Британії та Північної Ірландії, правила гри,  підготовлені завдання.

 

Хід уроку:

 

Teacher: Good morning, dear pupils, jury, our teams and guests! You are welcome to the intellectual English contest. The aim of our meeting is to show the students’ knowledge not only of English, but about the Literature and Geography as well, to widen the outlook and encourage students to speak. Our topic is Around Great Britain.

Teacher: Today two teams take part in our competition: the first team is ENGLISH ERUDITES! Let’s greet them (Don’t stop dreaming, never stop believing). The second team Is ENGLISH OPTIMISTS (Use or lose!).

Teacher: At first, let’s revise what we already know about the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. (Учні згадують, що вони вже знать про Велику Британію).

 

 

Round 1
“How much do you know about the English Traditions”

 

Teacher: The first contest is “How much do you know about the English Traditions”. You have to answer the questions. For every right answer you will get 1 point to your score.

• What are the most popular holidays in Great Britain? Name them. (Halloween, Thanksgiving Day, Easter, Christmas, New Year)
• What is the symbol of England? (the red Rose)
• What is the symbol of Scotland? (the tristle)
• What is the symbol of Wales? (the daffodil)
• What is the symbol of Northern Ireland? (the shamrock)
• What is the national costume of Scotland? (the kilt)
• What is the emblem of Easter? (the rabbit)
•  What is the British national drink? (tea)
• What is the national dish of the Britain? (pudding)

Puzzles

Teacher: The second contest is to make up a puzzle. You will be given the puzzles of flags of English-speaking countries. Please, make up the pieces of puzzles. You have 3 minutes for it. Every flag is a point for your team.

Round 4

"The ABC game".

 

Teacher: Kids, you'll get some letters from the English alphabet. You must put the letters in the right order, so as to get the name of the English-speaking country. You have 1 minute at your disposal. Each team can get 5 points.

The riddles:
