проведення позакласного заходу з англійської мови

«Веселі кухарі»

 

Мета заходу: в ігровій формі всебічно розглянути винесені питання, дати можливість кожному учню виявити активність, показати рівень своєї ерудиції; поглибити, систематизувати та удосконалити знання, вміння та навички учнів із вивченого матеріалу.

 

Обладнання: картки із завданнями, зображення продуктів харчування та страв, кросворди.

 

Огляд заходу: Позакласний виховний захід з англійської мови проводиться в ігровій формі, як конкурс-вікторина серед учнів, які вивчають англійську мову. Під час заходу учні, поділені на команди, змагаються між собою у відповідях на запропоновані питання по темі «Кулінарія», виконують завдання по даній темі, показують рівень своєї ерудиції. На заході учні поглиблюють, систематизовують та удосконалюють знання, вміння та навички із вивченого матеріалу.

Хід заняття

І.Організаційна частина

Поділ учнів на команди, назви команд

(під час поділу на команди ведуча зачитує сміховинку “At the Restaurant”)

At the Restaurant

Characters: the Man, the Waiter.

A man is sitting at a small table. A waiter is sitting on a chair farther off. He is dreamy and is singing a song.

Man: Waiter!

Waiter: (coming up to the man): Yes, sir, what can I do for you?

Man: Please bring me a plate of soup.

Waiter: What kind of soup?

Man: Any kind of soup, but be quick, I am in a hurry.

Waiter: All right, sir, just a minute. (Cries to the cook).  One soup, quickly! (Sits down on his chair, goes on singing).

Man: Please, I want my soup.

Waiter:  Oh, yes, cer­tainly. At once, sir, at once! (He goes to the kitchen, brings a plate of soup and puts it on the table in front of the man. Then he goes back to his place and goes on singing.)

Man: Waiter!

Waiter (coming up to him): Yes, sir?

Man: I can't eat the soup.

Waiter:  But it is a very good soup. Hot and thick. Well, I'll bring you another kind of soup. Just a minute! (He takes the plate, goes away and brings another one. Then he sings again.)

Man: Waiter!

Waiter (coming up to him): Yes, sir?

Man: I can't eat the soup.

Waiter: But our cook is the best cook in London, and he is especially good at soups. But if you don't like this soup, I can bring you another kind.

Man (angrily): Leave the soup here, and bring me a spoon. I have no spoon!

Waiter: Oh, what a fool I am!

 

ІІ. Основна частина

1.Count the words connected with “Meals”

(Ведуча зачитує всі слова серед яких є слова на тему «Їжа». Учасникам потрібно порахувати їх кількість – 2 бали за правильну відповідь.)

Milk, apple, home, friend, school, soup, spaghetti,  potato, por­ridge, bell, bread, cheese, fish, brother, Africa,  par­ents,  meat, sev­en, teacher - (10)

 

2. Make up dialogues

(Учасникам роздають репліки з діалогу, їм потрібно скласти діалог із поданих реплік – 4 бали. Час на підготовку – 2 хв.)

 

DINNER TIME

• Would you like to come to the table now? I think everything's ready. (Сідаємо за стіл? Я думаю все готове)
• Thank you. Oh, this looks lovely. (Дякую. О, все виглядає чудово)

• Would you like some salad? (Трохи салату?)
• This is absolutely delicious. (Цілком смачно)
• Thank you. I'm glad you like it. And would you like some steak pie? (Дякую. Я радий, що вам подобається. Хочете трохи м’ясного пирога?)
• No, it really is lovely, but I don't think I could man­age any more, thank you. (Ні, все справді чудове, але я не думаю, що зможу ще щось їсти, дякую)

 

COFFEE TIME

• Coffee? (Кави?)
• Black, please. (Чорну, будь ласка)
• Help yourself to the marzipan cake. (Пригощайтесь тортом Марципан)

• No, thank you. I'm afraid marzipan doesn't agree with me. Could you pass some apple-pie instead, please? (Ні, дякую. Марципан мені не до  смаку. Передайте натомість яблучного пирога, будь ласка?)
• Here you are. (Ось, будь ласка)
• Thank you. (Дякую)

 

3. Where would you go?

(Учасникам зачитують назви продуктів, їм потрібно відповісти у котрий магазин вони підуть за поданими продуктами – 2 бали за кожну правильну відповідь. Завдання на швидкість. Якщо відповідь у команди, що перша підняла руку, невірна, право відповіді переходить до іншої команди)

 

1.                   to buy fish, crabs (fishmonger's)- (купити рибу, краби – рибний магазин)
2.                   to buy potatoes, bananas, onions, apples (greengrocer's) – (купити картоплю, банани, цибулю, яблука – овочевий магазин)
3.                   to buy meat, sausages (butcher's) – (купити м’ясо, сосиски – м’ясний магазин)
4.                   to buy milk, sour cream, curds (dairy) – (купити молоко, сметану, кисле молоко – молочний магазин)
5.                   to buy tea, sugar, salt, pasta (grocery store) – (купити чай, цукор, сіль, макарони – бакалійний магазин)
6.                   to buy a loaf of bread, cakes, rolls (baker's) – (купити буханку хліба, тістечка, булочки -  хлібний магазин)

 

4. What vegetable is it?

(Учням зачитують опис певного продукту, їм потрібно підібрати зображення до опису – 2 бали за кожну правильну відповідь. Завдання на швидкість. Якщо відповідь у команди, що перша підняла руку, невірна, право відповіді переходить до іншої команди)

 

It is a white vegetable with a brown or red­dish skin which grows underground and is used for food. (potato)

A round juicy fruit that is usually red. It is eaten as a vegetable, either raw or cooked. It grows on vines. (tomato)

A plant with a round or oval edible root, having a strong, sharp taste and smell. (onion)

A long, pointed orange-coloured root of a plant, eaten as vegetable, either raw or cooked, (carrot)

A plant that has thick green or reddish-purple leaves that form a round head. (cabbage)

A plant of the onion family that has a strong taste and smell and is used in cooking to add  flavour. (garlic)

a story about sandwich

The Earl of Sandwich lived in the XVIII century. He liked to play cards for money. He often played all day and all night. Once time he had been playing for 24 hours without stopping. The servants brought him food — some meat and some bread. He did not want to stop playing while he ate. He put some meat be­tween two pieces of bread. In this way he could play without stopping because he did not have to go to table to eat. From the name of this man the word sandwich came.

 

 

6.                   Complete the sentences

(Учням роздають картки із завданням, де їм потрібно доповнити речення запропонованими словами – 1 бал за кожну правильну відповідь)

7. Кросворд “Vegetables”

(Командам роздають однаковий кросворд «Овочі», де їм потрібно знайти подані слова. Завдання на швидкість. 1 бал за кожне вірне слово.)

 

Cabbage (капуста), carrot (морква), peas (горох), potatoes (картопля), cucumber (огірок), lettuce (салат-латук), bean (фасоля), tomato (помідор), garlic (часник), beet (буряк), corn (кукурудза), onion (цибуля), aubergine (баклажан), nut (горіх).

 

 

 

8.                   Menu

(Учням пропонують перелік страв, їм необхідно посортувати страви відповідно до розділів меню – 4 бали за правильну відповідь)

Herring (оселедець), green salad (овочевий салат), oysters (устриці), mushrooms (гриби), chicken soup (суп з курки), noodle soup (суп із локшиною), borshch (борщ), varenyky with cheese (вареники з сиром), roast chicken (смажене курча), mashed potatoes (картопляне пюре), boiled rice (відварений рис), deruny (деруни), ice-cream (морозиво), hot chocolate (гарячий шоколад), biscuits (печиво), apple-pie (яблучний пиріг), whipped cream (збиті вершки).

1.                   appetizer – закуска:

Herring, green salad, oysters, mushrooms.

2.                   the main course – основне блюдо:

Chicken soup, noodle soup, borshch.

3.                   the first course – перша страва:

Varenyky with cheese, roast chicken, mashed potatoes, boiled rice, deruny/

4.                   dessert – десерт:

Ice-cream, hot chocolate, biscuits, apple-pie, whipped cream.

POTABOLIA

Once upon a time there lived a Potato in the kitchen garden. Her surname was Potabolia. She liked to praise herself very much. The Potato always said that she was the main vegetable.

One day a little girl, Olenka by name, was treated with potatoes. But the girl didn't want to eat only potatoes. She wished other vegetables like tomatoes, cabbage, cucumbers, carrots, and onions. When the Potato heard that she under­stood that all vegetables are very important and useful for our health. Each of them is rich in vitamins A, B, and C.

 

9.                   4 dishes to describe

(Кожній команді пропонують 2 страви, які потрібно описати – 4 бали за опис кожної страви. Час на підготовку – 2 хв.)

1.      Borshch
2.     Varenyky
3.      Holubtsi
4.     Domashnia kovbasa

 

Holubtsi - Cabbage rolls stuffed with rice and vegetables, or possibly with spiced minced meat, and stewed slowly in the oven.

Borshch - Soup based on beetroot with meat and other vegetables; served with sour cream. There are many regional varieties.

Varenyky - Ravioli-like pasta stuffed with potato, cabbage, mushrooms, meat or cheese, or with cherries as a sweet dish.

Domashnia kovbasa - A domestic sausage, but it can't be called saliami. The only way to sample true home-prepared sausage is by experiencing it for yourself with the sights and smells of the markets of Ukraine.

1.                   Оголошення результатів

(Журі підраховує загальну кількість балів кожної команди. Під час підрахунку балів зачитують сміховинку “What’s the Boy’s Name?”)

 

WHAT IS THE BOY'S NAME?

Once upon a time there lived a young boy. He was full of joy and always smiled. He looked very smart in his brown suit. But he had no friends.

One winter day the boy was walking in the park and there he met a girl. She was his dream. She was sitting on the bench and looked so unhappy. The boy sat near her and at once the girl felt very comfortable. The boy smiled and the girl didn't feel lonely any more. But she was still cold. The boy decided to make her warm and started taking off his fur-coat, a jacket, a sweater and one more sweater. The girl felt warmer but suddenly she began to cry. Why? What had happened? What was the boy's name? Guess.
