Interesting facts about London

Heathrow Airport is a major international airport in London. Heathrow is the seventh busiest airport in the world by total passenger traffic. In 2019 it handled a record 81 million passengers.

The London Transport Museum based in Covent Garden (район у центрі Лондона). Museum was build in 1980. In 2000, the remit of the museum has expanded to cover all aspects of transportation in the city.

London has left hand traffic!

Wembley Stadium is a football stadium in London, which opened in 2007. It was built by Australian firm at a cost of £800 million. Stadium is the second-largest stadium in Europe. It is crowned by the 134-metre-high Wembley Arch.

Baker Street is a street named after builder William Baker, who laid out the street in the 18th century. But the street is most famous for it's connection to the detective Sherlock Holmes, who lived at a fictional 221 B Baker Street.

There are many cities in the world with the same name, London! For example in Canada, the US. It is unusual that the Canadian London is also located on a river Thames.
