Present Simple

Using Present Simple. For permanent states, repeated actions and daily routines. Winnie loves watermelon.

b) for general truth and laws of nature. The snow falls in winter

c) For timetables and programmes. The train arrives at 8.00.

d)for sports commentaries, reviews and naration. The team is ready to compete.

e) To give instructions or directions Now you mix everything.

Present Continuous

a) for actions at the moment of the speaking. It is raining.

b) For temporary actions; that is actions that are going around us. Vinnie is sitting on a diet.

c) To express annoyance, irritation or anger. You are always sitting on my honey!

d)for actions in the near future. They are going to visit the donkey.

e) For changing or developing situations. The stars are becoming brighter and brighter…

Present Perfect

a) For an action which started in the past and continues to the present. Vinnie has had his friends for 3 years.

b) For an action which has recently finished and whose result is visible in the present. He has just launched a kite.

c) For an action which happened at an unstated time in the past. Vinnie has bought a new balloon.

Vinnie has eaten 4 jars of honey. d) For an action which has happened within a specific time period which is not over at the moment of speaking.

Present Perfect Continuous

A) to put emphasis on the duration of an action which started in the past and continuous up to the present. They have been fishing for all morning.

b) For an action which started in the past and lasted for some time. The result of the action is visible in the present. It has been snowing all night and now Vinnie and friends have a fun
