The participants of the Revolution of Dignity, who were killed by the security officers and their mercenaries, received a name of the Heavenly Hundred. The official count of them is one hundred and seven. They were people of different nationalities, age groups, gender, education background, from various regions of Ukraine and from abroad, successful entrepreneurs and poor pensioners, scientists, artists, students, and activists. The youngest one, Nazarii Voitovych, was sixteen. The oldest one, Ivan Nakonechnyi, was eighty-three.

These days, seven years ago, the tragic events of the Euromaidan unfolded in Kyiv.

More than 100 people died and more than a thousand were injured

In memory of the victims of the protest actions, on February 20 Ukraine celebrates the Day of the Heroes of the Heavenly Hundred.

How it was. On November 21, 2013, the Cabinet of Ministers suspended the process of preparing for the signing of an association agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

In protest against this decision, people began to gather on Independence Square in Kyiv and set up tents. The action was supported in the regions and called Euromaidan.

On the night of November 29-30, 2013, a tent camp was dispersed on the Maidan, after which the protest action turned into an anti-presidential and anti-government movement. Its participants were against corruption and for the European vector of Ukraine's development.

From November 30, 2013 to April 14, 2014, 105 people were killed during violent confrontations

The bloodiest events took place from 18 to 20 February 2014. During this period, 78 people died, many from gunshot wounds.

On February 21, 2014, the deads were officially recognized as victims of the regime. On the same day they were called the "Heavenly Hundred".
