For many Sumy residence and visitors of the city it`s associated with marching band playing, because of the Europe days and Ukrainian festival of marching music called "Surmy konstytuciyi", that are held here. Altanka, which from Polish means "open terrace", has been a favorite Sumy residences' meeting place for more than 100 years. It is said that during the construction of Altanka no metal nails were used. It is decorated with columns, cornices and various spiers. It looks like a delicate unusual building. Altanka is one of the Sumy`s attractions

The fountain "Sadko"The fountain "Sadko" is already forty-two years old. Evgen Kulykov created it in 1975. Designing of a bronze sculpture is based on the Slavic legends about Sadco. The fountain "Sadko" was completely renovated in 2010. At night the fountain is illuminated.

Park of Culture and Rest named after Ivan Kozhedub has an area of ​​58 hectares and is locate at the city center. There are a lot of attractions in the park, it regularly hosts exhibitions, festivals and other cultural events. A modern stadium "Yuvilejnyj" situated near the main entrance of the park. Sumy Museum Sumy Museum is a Regional Museum in Sumy which has the largest collection of materials and documents on history, ethnography, archaeology and nature of Sumy region. Sumy museum was originally named artistic and historical museum, but then the art collection was separated from the art museum and the historical, natural, ethnographic and archaeological collections became a basis of the museum itself. In the second half of the twentieth century Museum moved to the former building of the city council, which has the status of history and architecture monument, and is considered to be one of the most beautiful buildings in the city.

Children's park «Kazka» Children`s Park "Kazka“ was founded in 1985 and includes a youth center "Romantika" Located in downtown of Sumy. After cleaning of Sumka river it became possible to create water reservoirs with romantic castles, adapted for children. There`re lots of ladders with access to the viewing platform on the roof. Castles are surrounded with bridges. There`re also a lot of attractions and a car park. There`re also sculptures tales` characters.

Monument sweet tooth Sculpture "Baby sweet tooth" is set in 2007. The monument, created by sculptors Oleg and Vladimir Prokopchuk represents a composition of two bronze figures: a boy on a chair, eating sugar and a girl standing next to another chair. Any passerby can sit in the chair to take a pictures. This monument is a sigh of respect to the Kharytonenko family, who made a great contribution in the development of the city.

Fountain monument "Sumka" Fountain monument "Sumka", which was established in 2008, is on the one of the main pedestrian streets of Sumy, symbolizes the legend about the founding of the city. According to legend, the first settlers of the town were Cossacks, led by Ataman Kondratiev. In summer 1655 they found three hunting bags with coins at the place where a small river flew into Psyol. River was named Sumka, from Ukrainian word "sumka" which means bag, and the city was named Sumy.

Monument to refined sugar Monument to refined sugar was opened at 355 anniversary of the city in memory of the former sugar glory of Sumy. It is located on Pokrovsky Square. The city had reached prosperity in XIX century thanks to I. Kharitonenko . At that tikme sugar were pressed into small cubes, and it is the form of monument sculptors V. Dovholyuk and A. Shevchenko has chosen.

Museum of Art Sumy Regional Museum of Art This museum named after N. Onatsky is housed in a building constructed in the early 20th century. It was founded on the basis of nationalized private collections of art in 1920.

"Happy Sumy resident" Monument "Happy sumy resident" embodies the spirit of the city. It`s interesting that the fundrising for the monument was initiated by the citizens of Sumy. Vladimir Kryvopishyn has become the prototype for this monument. The author of the monument is sculptor Bogdan Lyuklyan. The height of "Happy Sumy resident" is almost two meters. The sculpture was made by craftsmen from Kharkov. There is a tradition for the couples to take photographs at the monument and to put a note with wishes into his pocket.
