та  фактори впливу

Тема уроку: Різноманітність професій та фактори впливу на вибір професії.

Мета:

• практична: активізувати вживання в мові учнів лексичних одиниць теми; удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання, письма й усного монологічного мовлення;
• розвиваюча: розвивати пізнавальні інтереси учнів; розвивати вміння аргументувати свою точку зору, аналізувати і робити висновки;
• виховна: виховувати правильне ставлення до вибору професії, поважне ставлення до думки співрозмовника.

Обладнання: комп'ютер, мультимедійні проектор, презентація уроку, роздатковий матеріал(картки для роботи в групах), підручник.

Хід уроку

1. Організаційний момент. Вступне слово вчителя.

Good morning boys and girls! I’m very glad to see you.

Today we shall continue to speak about the role of the profession in the person’s life. But, first of all, let's have a look at the history of the emergence of professions. As such, there were no professions in prehistoric times. People were engaged in hunting, gathering, and wandering from place to place. The material and technical conditions for the development of the division of labour were absent.

The first professions began to appear before the civilizational era, when a man began to create sedentary settlements, engage in agriculture, mastered the pottery and forging business.

With the beginning of industrialization, many new professions have emerged related to the development and maintenance of machines: engineers, factory workers, machinists, etc.

 With the development of automation, the need for heavy manual labour began to fall. And mass computerization required large numbers of people capable of serving computers and creating and maintaining their software.

Thus, the great importance in professional development now has not the mechanical skills, as in the previous, industrial, epoch, but knowledge and creative thinking.

You are in the 9th form and you should decide what to do after finishing it: to leave school for getting a job in technical school or to continue education at school in the 10th form. It is not an easy task to make a right choice but it is very important for everybody. There are a lot of honourable professions today. Still, it is difficult for young people to choose (слайди 1, 2)

2. Актуалізація наявних знань.

Choosing a career is one of the most important steps in our life. What factors we should take into consideration choosing a career? Let’s make “Mind Map” (слайд 3) and discuss. (Учні обговорюють)

3. Робота з лексикою.

You used such words as “profession”, “career”, “job” and “occupation”. It is important for you to know how to use them.  Let's read the definitions (слайд 4)

A career is a professional growth a person does in his or her life, usually on one field.

A job is the work that a person does regularly in order to earn money.

A profession is a job that requires special training, often a university education.

An occupation is a job or profession.

Fill in with the words “profession”, “job”, “occupation” or “career”.

1. How long had Linda been unemployed? – She’s been looking for a … for two months.
2. Please write your … on this form and hand it in.
3. His … as a boxer came to an end after that fight.
4. My mother is a doctor. I like this … and I may follow her in her footsteps.

4. Вправа «Світ професій» (назвати професії за класифікацією)

There are a lot of classifications of professions. Now we'll classify them in 5 groups.

A man – a man, a job based on the work with people.

A man – technique, a job based on the work with cars, machines, tools

A man –artistic image, a job based on the work with paintings, making and studying artistic images.

A man – sign system, a job based on the work with documents, finances.

A man – nature, a job based on the work with animals, in the countryside (слайд 6)

Учні слухають визначення кожної групи професій та називають приклади професій до кожної групи. Потім розподіляють професії згідно характеристик:

1. dangerous jobs
2. jobs which require a university degree
3. jobs which are primarily done by men
4. jobs which are primarily done by women
5. jobs which are most prestigious
6. jobs which are least prestigious
7. jobs which are well paid
8. jobs which are low paid

6. Хвилинка релаксації. Вправа "Живий малюнок"(відгадати професію)

Учні без слів показують професію, інші намагаються здогадатись, яка це професія. Той, хто перший назвав, показує наступним.

7. Формування лексичних навичок та активізація їх у мовленні.

Find in the crossword 11 adjectives that characterise the occupations and complete the sentences. (слайд 8) Учні виконують вправу 6, стор.151.

8. Гра «На шаховому полі»

Now we’ll play the game “On the chess field”. You are to guess the professions with their descriptions (слайд 9)

Гра побудована на шаховому полі із 25 клітинками. Кожна клітинка розташована на перехресті літери й числа, як у шахах, тому й має відповідну назву, наприклад: h1, f2, d7. Кожна клітинка має одне запитання. Починають (і продовжують) гру ходом шахової фігури - конем з її стартової позиції. Капітани команд по черзі називають клітинку, на яку здійснюють хід. Двічі в одній і тій самій клітинці бувати заборонено. Кожен хід зараховують і вважають результативним, якщо гравці команди правильно відповідали на запропоноване запитання. Кількість запитань має відповідати кількості клітинок – 25. Перемагає команда, яка дала правильні відповіді на запитання і в результаті набрала більшу кількість балів.

9. Робота в групах.

You’ll get a short text with the description of the profession but missed name. You are to guess the profession and read the text.

1) I've decided to be a _________________. I think it is an interesting and useful profession. I like the profession of a ________________. He meets many people. He tries to understand what is going on in the world, country and city and tries to explain it to the other people.

I think that the work of a _______________ is very much like that of a historian. A historian studies and tries to explain the events of the past and the _______________ do the same about the present. But for me the profession of a ________________ is much more interesting than the profession of a historian because ________________ deal with real events that happen now. So, ______________ can influence on the history. That is why I want to be a________________. (A journalist)

2) I have decided yet that I want to be a _________________. It is important to understand that law is not only necessary just because there are bad people in the world. If we were all as good as we ought to be, laws would still be necessary.  

Every _______________ is required to protect the law. The legal profession is very popular and highly paid today. He is responsible to use laws to help people live safely and comfortably. Still, it is not all an easy work to do.

A _____________ gives you pieces of advice on legal problems or gives reasons for defending people in the court.

10. Розвиток творчої діяльності.

I think you know the Russian and English proverbs and statements about professions and works. Match them. How do you understand them? (слайд 35)

1) If a job is worth doing it is worth doing well.

4) All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy.

5) Hard work never did anyone any harm.

11. Підведення підсумків. Висновок.

I want to finish our lesson with the poem “Just Me”

Grown-ups always want to know,

Maybe I’ll be a detective on a TV show.

I might be a disk jockey on the radio.

I’ll be a pilot and fly through the sky.

I’ll be a sailor and sail on the sea.

I think for now that I’ll just be me.
