Functional Zones of the Shatsky NNP.

According to its purpose, the park's territory is divided into several functional zones.

The conservation zone (4 805 ha)' consists of the most valuable nature sites. Both recreational and managerial activities are prohibited there, but scientific studies are carried out OH a special permission of the park's administration.

The regulated recreation zone (12 325 ha) is purposed for short time leisure of local people, seeing the sights, performing tourist routes and ecological paths, recreational and informational points.

The stationary recreation zone (1 283 ha) is occupied by stationary health improvement objects and visitors' service points.

The managerial zone (30 584 ha) consists of lands belong to agricultural enterprises, state forestry and other land-users. Managerial activity connected with the park's purposes is executed there, and local tradicional methods of land use are renewed.

Such territorial division allows to ensure the conservation of the unique nature objects, to place the anthropogenous loads more reasonable, to regulate the nature and recreation resources, use and to optimize the work of protection and service bodies.
