Activity “Where are you from” the 2nd form Larisa Krivalova

Rules. Make a big circle. By threes count off. The third numbers make a small circle in the center. The teacher takes five pots or paper cups with the small flags of Ukraine, the United States of America, Australia, Canada and the United Kingdom puts them on the floor in the circle at the same distance. The children of the big and the small circles face each other, the flags are between them.

6. The big circle moves to the left; the small circle moves to the right and the learners count from 1 to 10. At any moment the teacher “Stops”.7. The pupils who stands in the circle ask the pupils in front of them and the others look at the flag and answer. E.g.- What is your name?- My name is Dima.- Where are you from?- I am from the United Kingdom.8. The learners can ask the neighbors. E.g. What is her/his name?Her name is Olga. Where is she from?She is from Ukraine.9. The correct answer gives the right to changethe places with the partner. The activity continuous.

Outcomes: By the end of this activity the learners will be able to name the countries, communicate with each other: to ask and answer the questions using The Present Simple.
