Music Festival.
Мета:
Практична: узагальнити лексичний матеріал та вивчити нові лексичні одиниці на базі пісенного матеріалу, використаного в процесі підготовки до фестивалю.
Освітня: надати учням додаткову інформацію про розвиток музики в англомовних країнах.
Розвиваюча: розвивати інтелектуальні, пізнавальні та творчі здібності учнів.
Виховна: виховувати інтерес до англійської пісні як способу вивчення іноземної мови, вчити учнів поважати культуру інших країн.
Підготовка до фестивалю починається задовго до його проведення. В конкурсі приймають участь учні 2-10 класів. Щоб надати можливість приймати участь у фестивалі учням з різноплановими здібностями, дітям пропонується підготуватися до фестивалю в наступних номінаціях:
Діти з великим задоволенням займаються оформленням афіш. В склад редколегії входять учні, які не мають особливих здібностей до вивчення англійської мови, але мають нахили до малювання. Функції головного редактора, як правило, виконує учень, який може керувати процесом оформлення афіші на англійській мові. Редколегія добирає інформацію про пісні та їх виконавців, відшукує фото зображення та компонує відібраний матеріал.
Школярі охоче приймають участь у виборі музичного матеріалу, залучають до процесу своїх рідних та знайомих, із задоволенням працюють над перекладом обраних пісень. Оформлені афіші вивішуються на початку тижня англійської мови і викликають жвавий інтерес та обговорення серед всього колективу школи.
Фестиваль проводиться в шкільному актовому залі. Сцена прикрашена плакатом “Music Festival”. На сцену виходять учень та учениця. Це ведучі фестивалю.

P1. Music helps us to understand other people’s life, teaches us to love and hate. Listening to different songs, we can learn history, culture and traditions of other peoples.
P2. But what should we do if we don’t understand songs? There are so many wonderful songs in English and other languages.

P2. I have no time to think about love. You know, I’m very busy. I go to school, to musical school, help my parents, play the piano.... Sometimes I think about my marks in English, Maths, History , Biology... and so on. I have no time to think about love.
P1. I see. But senior pupils think only about love.
P2. Why do you think so?
P1. Because they like to sing about love!

P2. There is music everywhere: at home, in parks, at the seaside. We listen to music,we dance to music, learnt to play musical instruments. Music plays an important role in our life.
P1.You should know music is a language. People use it to express moods and feelings. Some music is happy, and some is sad. Some is serious and some can make people laugh.
P2. Yes, sure, music is for: entertaining, amusing, relaxing, resting, spending free time, reflecting people’s ideas and emotions, cheering up.

P 2.-I’m sure music plays an important role in our life. It makes the world brighter.
Life without music isn’t interesting at all. It senseless, I should say. Music helps us in everything we do.

P2. What kind of music do you know?
P1. I know classical, world music, rap, rock and pop, folk, heavy metal, blues, opera, jazz, pop-styles. Pop music is cheerful and simple. It makes a lot of people happy. Pop is the style of music which is solved by great number of people because you can listen to it wherever you want it’s a nice way of relaxation. Romantic ballad a slow, popular song telling a story about loneliness, sadness or lost love.

P1. By the way it’s interesting, what kinds of music are young people listening these days? A report in “ The Gardian” shows that pop is still the top: over 50% prefer normal pop songs.
P2. Number two on the list is heavy metal and good old fashioned rock’n’roll. Fans make up 22% of album buyers. Dance fans are down at 15%. Not bad. Young classical music buyers are only 5% of the age-group. I’m sorry Mr. Mozart. Fans of folk songs are just 2%.
