Мета:

 

• Активізувати знання учнів за темами «Зима»,  «Кольори», «Числівники»;
• Розвивати вміння працювати в групах та представляти результат спільної роботи;
• Розвивати пам'ять, увагу, мислення, мовну здогадку;
• Підвищувати мотивацію до вивчення іноземних мов.

Dear boys and girls! Today you are having an English competition “Enjoy your English”. There are 2 teams. Let me introduce them. The 1^st team is “Snowmen”. (Учень виходить та читає вірш, інший учень показує емблему команди).

The 2^nd team is “Father Frost”. (Відбувається те ж саме).

• The 1^st task is “Proverbs”. (Завдання: знайти англійський еквівалент для українського прислів’я).

Англійські прислів’я:

• Better never than late
• East or west, home is best
• Two heads are better than one
• My home is my castle
• A friend in need is a friend indeed
• Art is long, life is short
• One man, no men

Українські прислів’я:            

                                  - Краще пізно, ніж ніколи

                                  - В гостях добре, але вдома краще

                                  - Одна голова-добре, а дві-краще

                                  - Мій дім – моя фортеця

                                  - Друг пізнається в біді

                                  - Мистецтво вічне

                                  - Один в полі-не воїн

                         

• Task № 2 is to read the text. (частина тексту зашифрована малюнками. Завдання дітей: правильно назвати слова та прочитати текст. Учням дають роздруківки із зашифрованим текстом. Після виконання діти здають листи із виконаним завданням членам журі. Перевірка проводиться за допомогою презентації).
• The next task is to do the puzzle “What John likes”. Find 14 words and write down them on your sheet of paper. (Роздруківки з кросвордом видають кожній команді, виконані завдання віддаються журі. Перевірка проводиться за допомогою презентації.)

You have some cards with different letters. Your task is to make as many numerals as possible. (гравці повинні швидко і правильно зібрати з літер числівники. Ті, хто має більше слів, стають переможцями. Запропоновані літери: e-3, i-2, o-2, u-1, f-1, g-1, h-1, n-2, s-1, x-1, t-2, r-1)

 

The snow is falling,

• Winter is always white. Let’s paint it into different colours. Давайте розфарбуємо нашу зиму у яскраві кольори. (Дітям пропонуються картки, в яких необхідно правильно розставити літери, щоб вийшли назви кольорів. Після виконання учні здають готові відповіді членам журі. Загальна перевірка проводиться за допомогою презентації.)

Winter is snowy,

Winter is frosty,

The ground is white

All day and all night.

This is the season

When children can ski,

Play snowballs

And dance round

The New Year Tree!

• In winter we have a lot of fun. You have some sentences on the card but they are mixed. Your task is to put the words in order.
