How are you, fellows?

Now we have to say to you:

We love you much!

But we are not crazy,

We are just lazy,

We are very friendly,

As you have chance to see.’’

Boys:

“Hello, ladies!

How are you, ladies?

Now we have to say to you:

You are the best!

You are my sweet, lady!

You are my dream, lady!

I can’t live without you,

I can’t sleep without you,

I love, lady, dear, lady, you!”

P1: Here’s a special valentine

With lots of love for you

P2: And since you’re very special

Here are hugs and kisses, too!

P3:  Ladies and gentlemen! Good day!

P4:  It’s lovely to meet you here, at St. Valentine’s party!

P5: February, the 14th day.

       It’s Valentine, they say

I choose you from among the rest

The reason was I love you best!

P6: Good day to you, Valentine!

Curl yourself and do I mine

       One before and two behind,

       Good day to you, Valentine!

P7:  You know I love you,

        I’ll always be true,

        So, please, love me do.

P8:   Someone to love,

        Somebody new,

        Someone to love,

        Someone like you.

P9:   I hope that St. Valentine’s Day

Will bring you lots of fun!

        He thinks you’re extra-specially nice,

        And so does everyone!

P10:You’re just the nicest kind of boy

        So very grown-up, too.

        No wonder that this Valentine

Brings lots of love for you.

P-s   Just to little note to say:

Have a happy, happy Valentine Day!

P1:   Valentine’s Day is celebrated on February 14th as a festival of romance and affection.

P2:    People send greeting cards called “valentines’’ to their sweethearts, friends and members     of their families.

P3:    Many valentines have romantic poems, others are humorous. But almost valentines ask

“Be my Valentines”. It means be my friend or be my love.

P4:   Valentines often show a cupid with an arrow. Cupid was an ancient god of love. People

often use red colour for valentines, because it’s symbol of love.

Groupwork.

T:     Let’s divide into three groups. Take the cards and answer “What kind of valentines   do you know?”

P1:   I have Valentine with romantic poem:

        Roses are red,

        Violets are blue.

        Sugar is sweet

        And so are you!

P2:   I’ve got valentine from unknown person.

“I’ll be your sweetheart, if you will be mine

         All of my life

         I’ll be your Valentine”.

         Your secret Admirer.

It’s interesting to guess: who sent this Valentine?

P3:   Comic Valentines are also traditional.

For example: “Let’s get married, because we can do our homework together”.

This Day became more and more popular.

Projects (Pupils recite poems which were prepared earlier. They wrote poems on the self-created “valentines” dedicated to their friends. After reciting, every student hangs on the Tree’s branch. So the love-tree is in blossom.)

P1: Today we have brought some valentines!

          I have a little valentine

          That someone sent to me.

          It’s pink and white

            And red and blue

            And pretty as can be.

    P2:   Forget-me-nots

            Are round the edge

            And tiny roses, too; and

Such a lovely piece of lace

            The very palest blue.

     P3: And in the centre

            There’s a heart

As red as red can be!

            And on it’s written

            All in gold “To you

            with love from me”

Role-playing

“Valentine was a Christian priest in the Roman Empire 300 years after the death of Jesus Christ”

P1: My sweetheart, look! I can’t believe it. Is it St. Valentine himself?!

P2: You are welcome, patron of   lovers.

Priest: My children! I’ve come from the distant past, to remind you of kindness and love, friendship and patience in your wicked world.

Not only when it’s St. Valentine’s Day

But always, all year through

You’re thought about with words of love

And wished much gladness, too!

P1: Do please take us back to the 1st century when The Roman Emperor Claudius II ruled our country.

Priest: All right! I see you love each other and may you dreams come true!

“This is the legend of how St. Valentine Day began. When the Roman Emperor Claudius II needed soldiers, he made a law against marrying because he felt that marriage made men want to stay at home instead of fighting wars. But at that time there was a kindly prison named Valentine. He couldn’t agree with the emperor’s decision. When he saw that young couples were truly in love, he married them secretly”.

Priest: My daughter! My son! I declare you husband and wife!

Guard 1: Priest, you have been discovered and condemned to death!

Guard 2: To prison! To the Tower!

Priest: What a beautiful girl!

Warder: This is my daughter. She is blind! She will probably never see the light, the trees!

Priest: I’ll help her by working a miracle!

Girl: I’m so grateful to you. Even in prison you, Valentine, showed your love for everyone and restored my sight!

Priest: Unfortunately, tomorrow, on February 14, I am to die. But I am not scared and I want to tell everybody on earth, “I love you. I’m your Valentine”

Just before his death, on February 14, he sent her a farewell message signed “From your Valentine”.

T:  Do you know that the 14th of February is a day of fun and greetings.

Let’s have fun!
