Objectives: by the lesson pupils will:

- have developed their reading, listening, writing and speaking skills;

- have been presented a new vocabulary: playground, sports field, art room, gym, computer room ;

- have developed their grammar skills.

Beginning of the lesson (Початок уроку)

1.Greeting.

T. Good afternoon dear children!

Cl. Good afternoon teacher!

T. I'm glad to see you! Sit down please.

2.Report of the lesson.

Our today's lesson will be very interesting because we will speak about school subjects

3.Warming up.

T. How are you today?

T. And you?

T. What is the weather like today?

T. What month is it now?

T. What colour is the sky?

T. Do you like today's weather?

4.Revision.

T. What date is it today? ( It is thirtielh of September)

T. What day is it today? (It is Friday)

T. What lessons do you have on Friday in your timetable? (We have got ….. on Friday)

T. When do you have English in your timetable?

T. Look at the blackboard. Each of you has a timetable. Look! This is Helen. She want's to show you her timetable. Look at the timetable and answer my questions.

- What lessons has she got on Wednesday?( She has got maths and music.)

- When has she got English? ( She has got English on Tuesday and Friday)

- What has she got on Monday? ( She has got sience and art)

- When has she got maths? (She has got maths on Wednesday and Thursday)

- What lessons has she got on Tuesday?( She has got English and PE.)

- What lessons has she got on Thursday?( She has got PE and maths.)

- When has she got PE? (She has got PE on Thursday and Tuesday )

- What lessons has she got on Friday?( She has got English, science and art)

1.Presentation

T. Today we shall learn some new words. Look at the black board and listen.

- a playground [ ' plei,graund] дитячий майданчик

- a sports field [ ' spots ' fi:ld] спортивне поле

- an art room [a:t ' ] кімната для малювання

- a computer room [ kem'pju:te ] комп'ютерний клас

- a gym [ dzim] спортивний зал

T. Repeat after me:…..

T. Now read the words one by one.

T. Open your vocabularies and write down these new words.

2. Developing speaking skills

T. Open your Class Books on page 38.

T. Do you like your school?

T. What lessons do you love?( I love ……)

T. What do you do at PE? (I play football, basketball, run..)

T. What do you do at the lessons of maths? (We count)

T. What do you do at the lessons of art? (We draw and paint)

T. What do you do at the lessons of music? (We sing songs)

T. What do you do at the lessons of English? (We read, write and speak)

3.Developing listening skills:

a)pre-listening;

b)while-listening;

c)post-listening.

T. What do children do in the playground?

T. Where do they do PE?

T. What do they do on the sports field?

T. What do they do in the art room?

T. What do they do in the computer room?

T. Look at the pictures ex.2

T. What can you see in the picture?( I can see children)

T. What are they doing? ( They are playing football, jumping, running, playing game…)

4. Developing reading skills:

a)pre-reading;

b)while-reading;

c)post-reading.

T. Listen to the song and say what children do at school.

T. What children do at school? (They are playing football, jumping, running, playing game…)

T. Let`s start reading and translating the text one by one.

T. Answer my questions:

- What do we in the playground?

- Where can we do PE? (on the sports field)

- Where can we paint and draw?(In the art room we can paint and draw )

- What do we in the computer room? (We look and hear in the computer room)

6. Developing grammar skills

T. Translate into English:

- Діти кладуть свою спортивну форму в свої спортивні сумки.(The children put their PE clothes in their PE bags)

- Ми граємо у футбол на дитячому майданчику.( We play football in the playground)

- В нашій школі є комп'ютерний клас.( There is a computer room at our school)

- В кімнаті для малювання ми малюємо.( In the art room we paint and draw)

- На спортивному полі ми займаємось спортом разом.( On the sports field we play sport together)

- Діти вішають свої картини на стінах у кімнаті для малювання.( The children put their pictures on the walls in the art room.
