Visiting a Capital City
Last summer, I had the chance to visit the capital city of my country. It was my first time travelling alone, so I felt both excited and nervous. The journey by train took about five hours, but I enjoyed looking out of the window and watching the changing landscapes. When I arrived, I was amazed by the size of the city and the number of people everywhere. I stayed in a small hostel near the centre, which was simple but comfortable. Every morning, I planned my day carefully, choosing which museums, parks, or monuments to see. One of the highlights was visiting the old castle, where I learned a lot about the history of the region. I also tried traditional food in a local restaurant, and the taste was unforgettable. Meeting new people was another great part of the trip; I spoke with travellers from different countries and practiced my English. Sometimes I got lost, but that helped me discover interesting streets and hidden cafés. The weather was mostly sunny, which made walking around pleasant. In the evenings, I enjoyed sitting by the river and watching the lights of the city. The trip gave me more confidence and independence. I realized that traveling alone can be challenging, but it is also very rewarding. I hope to plan another adventure soon.
