Цілі уроку:

практичні – систематизувати та узагальнити лексичний матеріал по темі "Travelling. At the airport"; навчити учнів застосовувати його у нових мовленнєвих ситуаціях; активізувати граматичні навички (вживання модальних дієслів";

освітні – поглибити знання учнів про англомовні країни, розширити знання учнів про правила поведінки під час подорожі літаком;

розвиваючі – розвивати творче мислення та навички аудіювання, артистичні навички, уяву, тривалу пам'ять, мовленнєву реакцію;

виховні – виховувати естетичне сприйняття навколишнього середовища, культуру спілкування, інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

Обладнання: картки з індивідуальними завданнями, ілюстрації визначних місць Лондона, роздавальний матеріал (тестові завдання), підручник "Move Ahead 1", аудіозапис.

Тип уроку: урок-подорож.

Хід уроку

1. Початок уроку. Ознайомлення з темою уроку. Введення в мовне середовище.

- Good morning, boys and girls! Sit down, please. How are you? I'm glad to greet you in a cheerful and merry mood.

- Do you like today's weather?

- Do you know anything about the weather in London now?

- What do you know about climate in Great Britain?

You know that climate in Great Brit­ain is damp and mild. The weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a certain time. The famous English writer Samuel Johnson said when two Englishmen met their first talk was about weather. Why? Because the weather in Britain changes very often. The English have a joke: other countries have climate, and England has weather.

• Would you like to travel there now?
• What is the fastest way to get there? (by plane)
• What are the main advantages of travelling by air? (It is more comfortable, more convenient and far quicker.)
• So, today I invite you to travel to London. And of course we will do it by plane.

- Lets imagine that we have just arrived at the airport because we want to have a trip to London.

- The task for you to put this pictures in the right order to know what do we have to do at the airport if we want to travel abroad.

- Before getting off I want to introduce you our pilots: captain Andriy Turchin and co-pilot Dmitro Nesterenko. Also there are three stewardesses Kristina, Ann and Olga. They will tell about the instructions on the plane (SB p.59 ex 5).

- During the traveling you can manage much better if you understand the signs that you read around you.  You have to know these signs in the airplane.

Fasten seat belts! – пристебнути ремені безпеки.

No smoking! – не палити.

Hostess – виклик стюардеси.

Emergency exit – аварійний вихід.

WC/ restroom – туалет.

Pull – (потягніть) на себе.

Push – від себе.

Seat – місце.

Entrance – вхід.

Exit – вихід.

Pilot: "Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. This is your captain speaking. I'd like to welcome you aboard Eastern's Flight 179 to London. We're flying at an altitude of 33,000 feet. Our speed is 500 miles per hour. We'll land in Houston in two-and-a-half hours at 1:20 local time. The temperature in London is 15° Celsius. Our flight attendants will serve lunch in a few minutes. Enjoy your flight!

Passenger: - What weather will be there, in London?

The worst thing about the climate in England is the thick fog which they so often have in autumn and in winter. In London the fog is sometimes so thick that cars run into one another.
