Урок англійської мови "Leisure" у 3 класі (поглибл. вивч.)

Про матеріал

Урок побудовано у формі подорожі островами, на кожному з яких є певне завдання. Родзинкою уроку є ознайомлення учнів із сенканом, подано розповідь про засновницю сенкана та зразки цих віршів, аби учні самі спробували створити власні сенкани. До всіх пісенних матеріалів додано інтернет-посилання.

Розробка уроку з англійської мови «Дозвілля»

 (3 клас, поглиблене вивчення)

The subject: Leisure.

The objectives:  - to teach to tell about actions in the past using pictures;

                            - to active the vocabulary (irregular verbs);

                            - to develop imagination and skills of work in pairs;

                            - to explain how to write cinquaine;

                            - to bring up desire to learn English.

The equipment: CD, a ship and isles (map of the lesson), blanks for listening, picture of Adelaide Crapsey, examples of cinquaines.

 

The procedure of the lesson

I. The introductory part.

    1. Greeting.

Song “Basic questions”  (http://www.dreamenglish.com/starkids/basicquestions)

   2. Phonetic drills.

Match the words with the right ending and read:

[t]                    [d]                       [ d]

Finished, skated, played, started, helped, thanked, visited, moved, smiled, washed.

     3. Checking homework (mini-projects “Last Weekend”).

 

II. The main part.

1. Aim.

Teacher: Today we are going to speak about your leisure, to review using irregular and regular verbs. Look at the blackboard. You can see a ship and isles. Imagine that we are sailing in this ship during our lesson. There are tasks for us on each island.

2. Grammar drills.

Teacher: Let’s revise using was and were. First listen to the song.

Song “I was, you were”  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KAsacxmPh1Q)

Teacher: Now I say you the words and you must say “was” or “were”.

Words: he, my granny, you and Fred, his mum, I, you and I, they, desks, mountains.

3. Grammar drills.

a) chant “Irregular verbs”  (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LmdK2PKoC9w);

b) teacher asks pupils individually, they say two (or three) forms of the verb.

4. Reading.

Teacher: Take these stripes. There is one question and there is one answer on it. You must listen carefully for the question your classmates read because you may have the answer to it on your stripe. In this case you must read the answer and the next question. 

What season was it?

Yes, she did. She came up to the window.

 

It was winter.

Did Megan wake up at night?

 

Yes, she did. She woke up at night.

Did Bob make a snowman yesterday?

 

Yes, he did. Bob made a snowman yesterday.

Was it a fantastic party in the yard?

 

Yes, it was. It was a fantastic party in the yard.

Were the snowmen big and small?

 

Yes, they were. They were big and small.

Did the snowmen run?

 

Yes, they did. They ran.

Did they jump and sing songs?

 

Yes, they did. They ran and sang songs.

Did the snowman invite Megan to join him?

 

Yes, he did. He invited Megan to join him.

Did Megan come up to the window?

 

5. Listening.

Teacher: Listen to the song and fill in the missing words. Work in pairs.

I ______ a kite

It _____ blue and white.

Pam ______ a song –

It _____ very long.

 Frank ______ to the zoo

And ______ a kangaroo.

Liz _____ a bike

And so _____ Mike.

We _______ up balloons

And __________ rooms

For dear Mum.

Answers: flew, was, sang, was, went, saw, rode, did, blew, decorated, was.

6.  Speaking.

Teacher: Look, our ship is sailing to the island with a man on it. His name is Dan. He is alone here. Look at the pictures and say what he did or didn’t do on the island last Sunday.

(Pictures of actions: to go shopping, to play computer games, to go fishing, to sing)

Examples of answers: Dan didn’t play computer games last Sunday. He went fishing.

7.Writing.


Teacher: Some people write verses on their leisure. Do you want to try? There is an interesting poem called cinquaine that everyone can write. A cinquain is a five-line poem that was invented by Adelaide Crapsey. She was an American poet.

Look at the examples of cinquaines and try to make your own ones. Work in pairs. Use a dictionary. And, please, use Past Simple verbs in the third line. Choose the topic you wish.
