Урок "Джордж Гордон Байрон"

Мета: Ознайомити учнів з біографією і творчістю письменника. Ознайомити з новим лексичним матеріалом теми. Вчити працювати з текстами інформаційного характеру, який містить новий мовний матеріал, висловлювати свої думки з приводу прочитаного та почутого. Продовжувати формувати навички читання, говоріння. Виховувати інтерес до творчості письменників англомовних  країн.

Обладнання: підручник, текст з біографією письменника, портрет письменника, мультимедійна дошка, презентація життя і творчості письменника.

І. ПІДГОТОВКА ДО СПРИЙНЯТТЯ ІНШОМОВНОГО МОВЛЕННЯ.

1. Привітання. (Introduction).

T. Good morning, dear friends! I’m glad to see you.

T. Today we shall go on with our travel to the wonderful country of English literature. And we’ll get acquainted with great English writer George Gordon Byron and his life and literature work.

Also  we’ll work with the text, take part in discussion and express your point of view.

George Gordon Byron

George Gordon Byron was born on January 22, 1788 in London. The poet’s early years were spent in the small town of Aberdeen. He was ten when he inherited the title of Lord Byron.

 Byron’s first poetical efforts were made before he was thirteen. In 1812 he published his “Child Harold’s Pilgrimage” which brought him fame and universal acclaim.

 Byron wrote many poems, one of which was devoted to Ukrainian hetman Mazepa. His last work was a novel “Don Yuan”.

 Byron took an active part in political life of England. In 1816 he left England never to return. He fought for liberation of Italy and Greece.

 He died in 1824. George Byron lived only to 36. But his life has always been and will always be an example of courage and heroism.
