                      Home-reading. English fairy tale “ Cap of Rushes “.

Objectives: to encourage students to use their imagination; to develop free speaking skills of students; to practice the irregular verbs; to improve students’

reading, listening comprehension and writing skills; to enrich students’ knowledge with the study of literature.

Do you like reading? Today you’ll read  a fairy tail “ Cap of Rushes” and do a lot of exercises.

I’d like to draw your attention to the class board. Look at it and read English proverbs:

 He laughs best, who laughs last.

 It is by forgiving that one is forgiving.

 Everything comes to him who waits.

At the end of the lesson you’ll say witch of the proverbs suit our fairy tale.

IV. Warm-up

Answer the questions.

How many daughters did the rich gentleman have?

What questions did he ask?

Did he like all the answers?

Where did Cap of Rushes go?

Who named the girl such way?

What jobs did she do?

Who did she dance at the ball with?

What did the young muster give her?

Where did Cap of Rushes see her father again?

I have three daughters. Once I wanted to see how fond they were of me.

My youngest daughter said that she loved me as meat loved salt. I was angry and turned her out of the house.

   Later I was invited to the wedding. The food was so tasteless that I couldn’t it. I understood my daughter loved me. She came to me and I was happy.

 

  1. Make up talks between:

 

1) the father and his three daughters;

2) Cap of Rushes and the servants;

3) Cap of Rushes and the cook;

4) the cook and the young master;

5) the young master and the rich gentleman at the wedding feast.
