                                   LESSON "MY FREE TIME"

Objectives: to develop students' speaking, writing, dialogical skills; to practice using the words on the topic; to stimulate pupils to express and prove their own point of view; to contribute to the development of the learner's intellect, imagination, logical thinking, voluntary and in­voluntary memory.

Equipment: a tape recorder, pictures, a textbook.

 

                                                 PROCEDURE

I.THE BEGINNINGOF THE LESSON

1. Greeting

T. Good morning. How are you? I am glad to see you.

How is your mother (father, sister, brother)?

 

II.MAIN PART OF THE LESSON

 

1. Phonetic drills

T. Today we have a lot of work to do. But first of all let’s train our sounds.

Five fellows went fishing on Friday.

As fit as a fiddle.

We like to study; we like to play.

Come to school with us today.

[ei]

Every day, every day,

Little children like to play,

Sunday, Monday,

Tuesday, Wednesday,

Thursday, Friday, Saturday.

2.Warming-up activity

T. Look through the window. Answer my ques­tions:

     1.  What is the weather like today?

2. What season is it now?
3. Is it cold? Is it rainy?
4. What is the sky?
5. Do you like such weather?
6. Do you like to go to school in winter?
7. What poem do you know about seasons?

 

                    Spring is green,

                    Summer is bright,

                   Autumn is yellow,

                   Winter is white.

3. Vocabulary drill

T. A new person has visited our lesson today. Have you recognized him? I’ll help you, it is Bunny. Bunny wants to ask you some questions. Be active!

The topic of our lesson is “My Free Time”. Today we are going to speak about your hobbies, to make up dialogues and to write a short story.

Look at the blackboard, we have a quotation here “A hobby a day keeps the doldrums away”.
