T. Dear pupils, today we start studying a new conversational topic “Nature”. This theme is not a new one for you. You studied it in the primary school, you learned days of week, seasons, month and nature. In the fifth form we are going to study different kinds of weather, the weather in Ukraine and Great Britain and pay attention to some grammar rules. We’ll have ten lessons for the studying of the theme and then we’ll have a test. Nature is very interesting and exciting for everyone. We should know our nature well and we’ll know people better.
T. Let’s revise seasons. Winter, summer, autumn, spring. Fill in the missing letters into seasons (see Card 1).
T. Read the poem and pronounce it quickly three times.

My name is Mike. I live in Great Britain.
I am 10. I go to school. You may think that I’m I too young, but to my mind, pupils of my age are I already adults. Because I go to school myself in any season and weather. For example, it is winter now, January. It’s not so cold, but it’s difficult to say it’s warm. The weather is very changeable indeed. In the morning it was raining and now it is more looking like snowing. I don’t know if I need an umbrella in this way, because the wind is blowing and can break my umbrella. I’m really happy. Do you know why? Spring comes after winter. And spring is my favourite season. It’s not only because my birthday is in April. I enjoy warm spring days, trees in blossom, a blue sky and green grass. Especially I like when the sun is shining. OK, you are right! Most of all I like a lot of presents to my birthday.
