        Let’s speak about the capital of our country – Kyiv!

 

      Read short information and watch a presentation “I love Kyiv”.

      It's one of the oldest cities of Europe. Kyiv is situated on the banks of the Dnieper river. There are many parks and gardens. The population of Kyiv is about 3 millions. Kyiv is a large political, industrial and cultural centre. Kyiv is a seat of the higher body of state power of Ukraine, the Verkhovna Rada. Kyiv is a scientific centre. There are many institutes and universities here. Kyiv's cultural life is rich and varied. There are many theatres, museums, exhibitions in Kyiv. The central street of the capital is Khreshchatyk. There are many fine buildings in Khreshchatyk. Kyiv is especially beautiful in spring when the famous Kyiv chestnut trees are in blossom.

       Це одне із найстаріших міст Європи. Київ розташований на берегах річки Дніпро. Багато парків та садів є у Києві. Населення Києва складає близько 3 мільйони людей. Київ – це великий політичний, промисловий і культурний центр. Київ – це місце, де розташовується державна влада України, Верховна рада.  Київ є науковим центром. Там багато інститутів та університетів. Київське культурне життя багате та різноманітне. У Києві є багато театрів, музеїв і виставок. Центральною вулицею столиці є Хрещатик. На Хрещатику є багато гарних будівель. Київ – особливо красивий навесні, коли цвітуть відомі київські каштани.
