Lesson 1

“WHAT’S YOUR SCHOOL LIKE?”

Цілі уроку: формувати навички вживання нових лексичних одиниць;

                     удосконалювати навички усного мовлення й читання;

                     розвивати мовну здогадку й мовленнєву реакцію учнів;

                      виховувати зацікавленість у розширенні своїх знань.

Обладнання:, малюнки, аудідодаток, зошити, підручники.

Організаційний момент:

T.: Good morning, pupils. I am glad to see you healthy and wealthy at our lesson.

Who is absent today?

P: All are present today.

 T :Let’s start our lesson with a short phonetic drill:

Sounds [T] , [W]

 Twinkle, twinkle, little star,

How I wonder what you are.

 Up above the world so high

Like a diamond in the sky.

1. Перевірка домашнього завдання.

T.: your homework was to write a short composition” My school”

Now I would like you to read them.

Pupils are reading their compositions.

P. My school is not very big. It is not modern but cozy. It is a two stored building with a small sport ground and a stadium outside. There are many classrooms, a library, a canteen, a gym and labs. Our teachers are polite and kind.  I like to go to school.

2.Повідомлення теми та мети уроку. Асоціаціі.

Look at the blackboard and tell me what do you associate with the word                               School

Pupils: Lessons, pupils, teachers, breaks, home work, classwork, friends.

T.: what do you think we’ll talk today?

Pupils: about school.

Yes, you are quit all right.The next few lessons we‘ll to learn to speak more about Schools in Ukraine and abroad. But today we are going to talk about your school about subjects you are good at and aren’t good at.

3. Введення нових лексичних одиниць.

At the blackboard you can see some sentences with new words, they are underlined. Read them and try to understand their meanings from the context.

1. My elder brother studies at the university.

2. After a short talk they decided to go home.

3. I should improve my mark in English that’s why I should memorize many new words.

4.Teachers of our school always cheer us up.

(Pupils read and translate the underlined words)

You are clever boys and girls. And now I would like you to make sentences with new words. Open your copybooks write down today’s day and date and make sentences using new words and Future Simple Tense.

P.: I shall study at the university.

P.: I shall decide this problem.

P.: They shall improve all bad marks.

P.: My friend will memorize this poem.

P.: I’ll cheer her up.

4.Активізація лексичних одиниць.

5.Розвиток мовлення ( pupils are divided into two groups: positive and negative)

Answer the questions.

3. What is your favorite subject? Why?

4. Who is your favourite teacher? Why?

5. Do your teachers cheer you up?

6. Do any teachers inspire you?

7. What is your worst subject? Why?

8. What teacher do you dislike? Why?
