Step 1. 3 min

Discussion. Who is a fighter? What does he/she look like? Slide 1. Possible answer: a person who fights, struggles, resists. Words and phrases from Focus 3 WB p.116-117

Step 2. 5-10 min.

Work in pairs/groups. What personal values does the fighter possess? Slide 2,3. Students look at pictures and think of the values. They may add their own ideas (they use the words from the Focus 3 WB p.116-117). Possible answers: courageous, decisive, determined, hard-working, honest, hopeful, patient, resilient, well-mannered, ask nothing in return, be passionate about, learn from his/her mistakes

Step.3. 10 min

Matching. Match the words and phrases to their meanings. Slide 4
