Materials: presentation, cards, videos, etc.

II. Phonetic drill.

III. Warm – up.

  • -What`s your name? How old are you? Where are you from? Where do you live? Which colour do you like? What`s your favourite animal?

IV. Actualisation. Theme of the lesson.

  • -Which jewish holidays do you know? Which holiday will we celebrate on the week? Wich symbols of Rosh ha-Shana do you know?

V. Vocabulary.

- Let`s learn the new words. They are about Rosh ha-Shanah symbols.

a) Words for learning:

Rosh ha-Shanah, shofar, apples, honey, pomegranate, synagogue, meal.

b) Game “One by one". C) Game “Lexical chair".

d) Game “Remember the word" (“Games at the English lessons", p.6)

Leisure time

VI. Video watching.

  • -We`ll watch video about the Rosh ha-Shanah now. Look the video so attentionally, `cause you`ll have a test after watching.

VII. Singing.

VIII, Reading.

  • -Read the story about the Rosh ha-Shanah and answer the questions.
