Тема уроку: The major parts of computer.                               

     Основні частини комп’ютера.

Мета уроку:  

• Розширити знання учнів про будову комп’ютера,
• Удосконалювати навички читання, усного мовлення та письма
•  Розвивати мислення учнів, творчість, активність, вміння працювати на комп’ютері над презентаціями
•  Виробляти правильну позицію й погляди на проблеми, що стосуються
• користування комп’ютером
• Виховувати толерантність до чужої думки

Обладнання: Роздавальний матеріал, комп’ютер, мультимедійна дошка

Today we are going to speak about the major parts of computer.

• What is computer?

The computer is a machine for carrying out calculations and performing specified transformations of information, such as sorting, sorting, correlating, retrieving and processing data.

Комп'ютер — це машина для проведення розрахунків і виконання специфічних перетворень інформації, таких як, наприклад, зберігання, сортування, виправлення, відновлення та обробки даних.

1 Multimedia Presentation "What Is a Computer?"

• A computer is an electronic machine that uses programs. A personal computer is a computer that is used by one person. The computer is a machine for carrying out calculations and performing specified transformations of information, such as storing, sorting, correlating, retrieving and processing data.
• The major parts of a PC include the motherboard, central processor unit, memory, hard drive and video card.
• Computer equipment that makes PC work is hardware. Software is a number of computer programs.
• Computer's parts are:
• a system block The system block is the core of a computer. Usually it’s a rectangular box placed under your desk. Inside this box are many electronic components that process information.
• a monitor The monitor displays information in visual form, using text and graphics.
• a keyboard The keyboard is used mainly for typing text into your computer.
• a mouse The mouse is a small device used to point and select items on your computer screen.
• a scanner The scanner is a device that optically scans images, printed text, handwriting, or an object, and converts it to a didgital image.
• a printer The printer transfers data from a computer onto paper
• a modem The modem is a device that sends and receives computer information over a telephone line or high-speed cable.
• a CD-ROM drive The CD-ROM drives use lasers to read data from a CD, and many CD-ROM drives can also write data onto CDs.
• speakers The speakers are used to play sound.
• Let’s repeat together:

• The most important computer program that runs on a computer is the operating system. Microsoft Windows is one of the most widely used personal computer operating systems. It is sold by Microsoft Corporation. Bill Gates is the chairman of Microsoft Corporation. He is the world's richest person.
• You have a network when two or more computers are connected to each other.
