Procedure
Distribute QR code pictures (HO1(Додаток 1) among students and ask them to open the link using “technologies” (QR readers on their mobile phones). Then find out the name of the things in the pictures (using an online translator). Present the gadget to the class and explain how we can use it.
Ask Ss to guess what topic we start learning.
Form 4 groups of students according to the gadgets’ application: 1. For studying purposes; 2. For domestic purposes; 3. For self-care. 4. For pleasure. Ask every group to discuss one of the questions of Unit 5 page 120: Q1. Why is it important to study Science? Q2. What is the greatest invention of the last century? Q3. What is your favourite Science subject? Why? Q4. How has the Internet changed the world?
Distribute the questions and A3-size paper sheets with markers among groups. Tell them to write their question on the top of the paper and discuss it for 10 minutes. Have them make notes on thе same sheet during the discussion.
Ask groups to stick their posters on the board and one by one present the results of their discussion. Tell the students to write questions 1- 4 in their notebooks and make notes of the other groups’ answers while listening to the presenters.
Optional task.
While one group is presenting, tell the other groups to think of 1-2 questions about the topic of the presentation to ask at the end.
Encourage students to write their own opinions (10-12 sentences) on the discussed topics using notes made during the lesson.
Ask students if they were engaged in the lesson discussion and why. Mentimeter: choose the activities they were engaged in the most.
