План-конспект уроку Тopic: "We are having fun. Our daily routine". (Розваги. Розпорядок дня) Objectives: - to revise the vocabulary and structures related to the topic (to speak about the activities while having fun and daily routine activities); - to revise and compare grammar structures in The Present Continuous Tense and The Present Simple Tense; - to develop reading, writing, listening and speaking; - to develop communicative approach in speaking. Materials (aids): - a projector for the presentation; - pictures; - tables; - a CD player. Procedure: Warming up Asking and answering each other the question "How are you today? - I'm fine, great, fantastic, sad, bad, so-so..." (the slide with different emojis) The teacher: At the end of the lesson we will see how your mood has changed. Then the children make a "morning circle" and in turn make up sentences concerning the topic using words on the slide . For example: "like" - I like sleeping long or "at the moment" - He is skiing at the moment. Review The teacher: And now we will speak about the most pleasant thing in our lives -"having fun". As for me, I am having fun sitting at the seaside and reading a good book. What are you doing while you are having fun? The students answer the question completing the sentence on the slide "While I'm having fun, I'm skating, playing computer games, watching a film..." Practice The teacher: Some people are having fun when they are on holidays. Two of our pupils were on holidays in different places and sent video greetings to their parents. Now you will watch these videos and ask these pupils some questions about their vacations and they will answer them. The students watch the two videos and put the questions like "What are you wearing? What is your brother doing? What are you drinking, eating, doing etc." Then the students sing a song "We're having fun" (CD player recording). The teacher: But sooner or later everyone should come back to his everyday life and everyday activities because as they say "Business before pleasure". Our pupil N.... has a busy working day, so he will tell us about his usual daily routine. Listen attentively and then decide if the statements on the slide concerning his routine are true or false. If the statement is wrong, you will have to correct it. (1. N....gets up at 7 o'clock. - True. 2. He cooks breakfast. - False. His mum cooks breakfast....) The teacher: Famous people such as singers, actors, dancers also have their routines and busy lifestyles. Our pupil V..... is a young football player. He is fond of football and, of course, has his favourite footballer, Kylian Mbappe. He will tell us about his usual day and after that you will make up sentences on the slide according to V..'s story and write them down on the cards on your desks. Then V.....will say if they are correct. (1. Kylian, up, every, at, six, morning, gets, o'clock. 2. to, the goes, in, cinema, evening, He, the.......) Then the students sing a song "Round the Clock" (CD player recording). Production The teacher: And now it's time to watch a video about a funny pumpkin, called Lonny, his friends and their activities. Watch attentively because after watching we will work in groups. One group is going to discuss what all of them are doing now (in the video) and another - what they do every day. (Group 1 Lonny is playing baseball. Suzy is eating dinner. Sammy is sleeping... Group 2 Lonny plays baseball. Suzy eats dinner. Sammy sleeps...) The teacher: now, make exchanges: one group is asking, another - answering. (using the above sentences on the slide) "What is Lonny doing now? - He is sleeping now. What does Sammy do every day? - He sleeps every day..... Revision The teacher: It's also interesting to know if you usually do such things. Look at the notes on the slide and correct them. 1. I never go to school. - I always go to school. 2. I usually have a shower at school. - I never have a shower at school. 3. I always have breakfast in the evening. - I always have breakfast in the morning.... The teacher: You worked hard, so I wonder if your mood has improved. How are you now? (the slide with different emojis again). Home Assignment To write 7-10 sentences about your favourite singer's daily routine. Feedback and reflection: The teacher: What was interesting for you at the lesson? What have you learnt today? The students: express and share their opinions as for the lesson itself, whether it was interesting or boring, what was easy/difficult etc. (using coloured cards or thumb-up/thumb-down system). Warming up
