Objectives:

  • to present and practice food vocabulary;
  • to practice saying a chant for pleaser.

Learning outcomes:

By the end of the lesson, student’s will be able to:

  • use the new vocabulary (name the meals)and spelling it correctly:
  • students chant together;
  • make short dialogues, using the pictures.

Aids/Materials: CD, Flashcards (food), Pupil’s book (Herbert Puchta,), Activity book(Herbert Puchta,),  Teacher’s book (Emma Szlachta, Melanie Williams), Resource book (Camilla Mayhew, Susannah Reed).

  1. Teacher greets the pupils by saying “Good afternoon.” Pupils respond “Good afternoon teacher.”
  2. T explains the aims and purposes of the lesson.

  1. Teacher holds up flashcards in turn. Say the word of meals for pupils to repeat in chorus (do this three times).
  2. Hold up each flashcard with its corresponding word for pupils to say the word in chorus .
  3. Write the word “Food” in the middle of the board and stick the flashcards with their words around it to make a word map.

  1. Pupils look at their Pupil’s book, listen, point and say the word they hear (two times).
  2. Teacher plays the recording. Pupils listen and get a feel for the chant. Pupils do the chant again.
  3. Pupils look at their books and make the activity in pairs by saying the number of word “Yes, I like, No, I don’t like”.

Closing activity

 

 

  1. Pupils look at the key words with the picture. They write the numbers in the pictures.
  2. Pupils trace over the dots to practice writing the food word.
  3. Pupils find the words in the “word sausage” and circle them.
  4. Teacher thanks to the pupils for their work at the lesson, says “Goodbye!”
