Equipment: the multimedia presentation, video “Hello” and “Physical activity”, card with exercises.

  • What lesson have you got on Tuesday? (On Tuesday I have got Reading, English, Maths, Ukrainian.)

b) Reading the dialogue.

  • Read the dialogue with translation.

Nick: What day is it today? (Що сьогодні за день?)

Bill: It’s Tuesday. (Вівторок.)

Nick: Oh, good. It’s Sport on Tuesday. I like Sport. And which lesson do you like? (Добре. У вівторок є фізична культура. Мені подобається фізична культура. А який урок подобається тобі?)

Bill: I like counting and doing sums. Maths is my favorite lesson. (Мені подобається рахувати та розв’язувати задачі. Математика мій улюблений урок.)

c) Check comprehension.

  • Answer the questions:
  • What day is it?  (It is Tuesday.)
  • What lesson does Nick like? (Nick likes Sport.)
  • What lesson does Bill like? (Bill likes Maths.)
  • Why does Bill like Maths? (Because he likes counting and doing sums.)

4. Physical activity.

1. Making up dialogue and controlled practice.

  • Now look at the screen and make up dialogues. After that we act them out in pairs. Use the dialogue from book.
