T: Today we’ll start a new topic — «Nature and environment». There are lots of problems facing our planet today. A lot of people live on our planet, and the Earth’s resources won’t last forever. And today we’ll speak about the environmental problems caused by the technology development; besides, you’ll remember and learn a lot of terms concerning the environment. To introduce and activate vocabulary on the given topic. To develop listening comprehension, reading, writing and speaking skills.

T: What does the word “ecology” mean?

T: How long have humans been living on the Earth?

T: How long has technological progress been continuing?

T: Today the word “ecology” is on everybody’s lips. It is the study of plants and animals in relation to their environment. People have made a mess in nature: polluted air, soil and water; chopped and burnt trees; killed animals; learned to use nuclear power. It is clear that not only nature is influenced by the changes of the modern world, but people health is as well. Everybody wants to be healthy, so we need to take care about our environment. The Earth needs our help. Here we have the

“Complaints and suggestions book of Nature”. The secretary will help us to write                  down our complaints or suggestions. I suggest the first one “Human, be our friend

but not the master”. Now, it’s your turn to make complaints.
