Навчальна мета: закріпити та поглибити знання за темою „ Великобританія. Лондон”, познайомити учнів з районами Лондона та його визначними місцями, формувати мовну компетенцію при систематизації та активізації ЛО, формувати мовленнєву компетенцію при розвитку навичок аудіювання, читання, письма, монологічного та діалогічного мовлення,   закріпити граматичний матеріал при складанні питань та відповідей на них, виконання тестового  контролю з метою розуміння прослуханого тексту, використання ігрових моментів.

 Розвиваюча мета: розвиток  мовленнєвих  навичок та розвиток творчих здібностей учнів шляхом впровадження  інтерактивних технологій,  розвивати пам’ять, мислення, мовну здогадку, логічне мислення, розширити кругозір в межах теми, розвивати між предметні зв’язки ( англійська мова, історія, географія).

Виховна мета:   виховувати любов  до країни, мову яку вивчаємо,  пізнавальний інтерес до пам’яток культури, любов до рідного краю, любов та повагу до англійської мови.

Обладнання: ілюстрації визначних місць міста, кросворд, магнітофон, картки з завданнями, запис мелодії “My bonnie”, “London Bridge”,  міні тексти, підстановочні таблиці.

Teacher: Good morning!

3. Мотивація уроку через рішення кросворду.

Teacher: Theme of our lesson is “Welcome to London”.

Today we shall get to know many interesting facts. We are going to the capital of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. It’s very old and beautiful city. Lots of tourists visit it. What’s the capital of Great Britain?

Pupil: It’s London.

Teacher: Read the proverb. What does it mean?

Pupil: Краще один раз побачити ніж декілька раз почути.

Teacher: So. Right you are. So we travel to London. What kinds of transport do you choose?

Pupil: By bus.

Teacher: Pupils, let’s introduce you with our guide.

Guide: My name is Svitlana. Glad to meet you. Answer my questions.

What’s the capital of Great Britain?

Pupil: It’s London.

Guide: What river does London stands on?

Pupil: London stands on the river Thames.

Guide: What parts does London consist of?

Pupil: London consists of four main districts they are the City, Westminster, the West End, the East End.

Guide: What oceans and seas in Great Britain washed by?

Pupil: Great Britain is washed by the Atlantic Ocean and the Irish Sea in the west and by the English Channel in the south.

Guide: What parts does Great Britain consist of?

Pupil: England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland.

Guide: What is surface of England and Northern Ireland?

Pupil: The surface of England and Northern Ireland is flat.

Guide: What is the surface of Scotland and Wales?

Pupil: The surface of Scotland and Wales is mountainous.

Guide: What big cities of the UK do you know?

Pupil: Glasgow, Manchester, Liverpool, Oxford are big cities of the UK.

Guide: What is the longest river of the UK?

Pupil: The Severn is the longest river of the UK.

 

5. Формування мовленнєвої компетенції при розвитку навичок монологічного мовлення.

Guide: Thank you very much. I see that you know about Great Britain a lot of. And will you tell me the history of London?

Pupil: Yes, before our trip we try to prepare home task. Our trip is divided into two teams. Some of them prepare historical projects, and some of them prepare the project about the weather from our books.

Pupil: London is one of the oldest and beautiful and largest cities in the world. It is 2 thousand years old. To the small settlement in the year 55 Caesar came from Rome. “Llyndin: that means a lonely place became Londinium. The Romans made Londinium the large and rich city with good streets, beautiful palaces, shops. But in the fifth century Romans left Britain.

Pupil: Saxons and Danes conquered the land and ruined the city. Londinium lay in ruins for a long time. In the 9^th century Saxon king rebuilt the city.

Pupil: For a long period of time London was a rich and crowed city but in 1665 the Plague fell upon London. It came from one of the ships which came to the city every day. The houses of sick had a red cross painted on the door.

Pupil: In 1666 Great Fire destroyed 3000 houses and 97 churches in London. But the Fire cleaned away the old dirty wooden houses. A new London- of stone- was built.

Guide: Thank you. Okey, your pupils answered all my questions. Before our starting they would know the weather.

Pupil: You know the climate in the Great Britain is damp and mild. The weather is the condition of the atmosphere at a certain time. The weather in Britain changes very often.

Pupil: The weather will be not hot not cold because the sea keeps the island warm in autumn and in winter. Maybe it will be raining all over the territory.

Pupil: The weather won’t be very sunny. And the weather will be foggy. And fog is the worth thing in England.

Pupil: England has a thick fog, espessially in autumn and in winter. In London the frog is sometimes so thick that cars run into one another.

Guide: The weather is good. Make yourself comfortable. Now I want to sing English folk song “My bonnie”

6. Огляд визначних місць Лондона.

Teacher: Our red bus has just puffed right over the hill and we are going to visit London, London’s street and London famous sights. Look at the blackboard. There are pictures of famous London sights! Repeat after me!

Teacher: Imagine! Now we are in London. We are tourists. These our guides, introduce yourself.

Guide 1: Hi! I am Miss Diana! I am from London.

Guide 2: Hi! I am Mr. John! I am from London too.

Tourist 1: Could you tell us about famous sights? We go to the Buckingham Palace.

Guide 1: Yes.

Tourist 2: Excuse me! It is the right way to the Buckingham Palace.

Guide 2: Yes, it is. It is not far from Trafalgar Square. It’s over there.

Tourist 2: Thank you.

Tourist 3: Excuse me! Where is the Tower of London?

Guide1: It’s over there.

Tourist3: Thank you.

Tourist 4: Excuse me! Could you tell me the way to the Piccadilly Circus?

Guide 2: It’s in this street. Cross the street and turn right at the corner.

Tourist 4: Thank you.

Tourist 5: Can you help me, please? What’s the best way to get to the Westminster

Abbey?

Guide 2: I think by car but you can go on foot.

Tourist 6: Can you tell me where the St. Paul’s Cathedral is?

Guide 1: Turn right and go straight ahead.

Tourist 6: Thank you.

Tourist 7: Excuse me. Can you tell me the way to Trafalgar Square?

Guide 2: Certainly. Go down Regent to Piccadilly Circus and then go down the Haymarket. Turn to the left and in less than a minute you’ll be in Trafalgar Square.

Tourist 7: Thank you very much. How far is it from here?

Guide 2: If you walk, it’ll take you 10 minutes or a quarter of an hour.

Teacher: Our trip has finished. I hope you have enjoyed this trip about London.

EAST or WEST, HOME is BEST. What does it mean?

Pupil: It means that home is the best place for every body. It’s nice to come back home after traveling.

 

8.  Формування мовленнєвої компетенції при розвитку навичок

Teacher: Now, children let’s listening comprehension the text “ London”, after that we shall do test.

9. Тестова робота за текстом.

Teacher: You have got short papers. You will write down the answer.

1. Mr. Kipling is tourist from Texas.

2. He wanted to visit Liverpool.

3. He wanted to go to Oxford street but he didn’t know way.

4. He met the stranger on the street.

5. Mr. Kipling began to tell a stranger that he liked London and its sights.

6. Mr. Kipling compared Westminster Palace with his ranch-house.

7. The Londoner was surprised and got very angry but he didn’t show it as he was reserved and well-bred men.

8. The Londoner said “The buildings are so small in London because we like to

 live in a small houses”

9. The Londoner pretended that he was surprised when he saw a palace.

10. Mr. Kipling said “England is the country of traditions where everything happens slowly.”
