                                     Quiz “ Sport is fun!”

 Мета: активізувати лексико-граматичний матеріал теми; розвивати навички аудіювання, розвивати комунікативні здібності; розвивати вміння працювати в групах; розширити кругозір; виховувати бажання  займатися спортом та вести активний спосіб життя

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит(О.Д. Карп’юк, 7 клас),  картки для роботи в групах.

Хід уроку

I.    Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення

1. Привітання.Повідомлення теми та мети вікторини.

T: Hello, children!How are you today? I’m very glad to see you!

As far as you know our theme is “Sport”. I’ve prepared something intresting for you to find out how attentive you were at our lessons. Today you’ll take part in a quiz. I need three teams. For each task you’ll get points. The winners will get prizes.

2. Bведення в іншомовну атмосферу. (Асоціативний кущ).

T.: Each team has got three balls. Write there your associations with the word SPORT . Explain and stick them on the blackboard around the word SPORT.

II. Основна частина. Етапи вікторини.

Stage 1. Vocabulary practice.

T.: The first task of our quiz is based on the vocabulary. You are to write the names of sports(HO1) and fill in the tables(HO2)  with the words from Word Clouds.(HO3).

Stage 2. Listening practice.

    T.: At this stage your task is to listen to the definition and guess the sport. If you know the answer, raise your hand. For each correct answer you’ll get a point.

A game played on ice by two teams of 11 players, with sticks and a puck.

( Hockey)

A ball game played in water between two teams. (Water polo)

A Japanese fighting sport, in which you use your feet and hands to hit and kick.(karate)

The sport for which you need a small boat with sails.( Sailing)

A sport in which two people fight by holding each other and trying to make each other fall to the ground.(Wrestling)

The sport of moving up, down, or across mountains or rocks using your feet , hands and special equipment. ( Climbing)

The sport for which you need a short board with two small wheels at each end, which you can stand on and ride . ( Skateboarding)

A sports event in which people race against each other in small vehicles with two long thin metal blades instead of wheels on a special ice track. (Bobsleigh)

A game for two people or two with disability who use rackets to hit a small soft ball backwards and forwards over a net. ( Wheelchair tennis)

Stage 3. Do, go, play….

T.: I hope you remember the usage of verbs DO, PLAY and GO with the names of sports because the following task is to use these verbs correctly(HO4)

Stage 4.  Olympic Games.( Tad-questions).

T.:  What is the most popular sports event? (Olympic games.) What do you know about Olympic Games?

T. :I’ll hand out you sheets of paper with tag-questions. Fill in the gaps and answer them (HO5).

3. The tradition of Olympic flame comes from ancient Rome,…..?

1.The 6 rings represent the five inhabited continents of the world,….?

Stage 5. Cinquain.

T. : Are you good at writing poems? At this stage you’ll write a cinquain – a poem consisting of five lines. You can see a scheme on the blackboard.
