Form 3

The textbook”Chatterbox-2”.

 “Chatterbox” is my favourite textbook. This textbook helps me and my friends study English. It is our magician. Thanks to it, we do not make mistakes in the words “gymnastics”, “hopscotch”, “catch”, “museum”, “volley-ball” and others. We like the words “ Nature Study”, “behind”, “often”, “Handicrafts”. We remember that we do not begin the word “centre” with the letter “s”. Also, we do not begin the word “always” with the letter “o”, the word “judo” with the letter “g” and the word “upside” with the letter “r”. We do not write “ee” in the words “clean” and “speak”. We know that the words “break” and “great” are brothers and the words “drawing” and “sport” are not. We also know that the long word “swimming” likes “mm”.

The textbook “Open Doors-1”.

Open Doors is a magic book. It is our guidebook in the wide and fantastic world of the English language. he book teaches us to write the most difficult words correctly. It’s easy to make mistakes in the

following words but not for us:” advice, special, delicious, dialogue, oven, souvenir, science, valuable, environmental, fashion, ingredient, advantage”.

We remember:

1) the words “enough, photo and geography” have  no “ f

2) the words “wealth, and bread” are brothers, but “son and sun” are not brothers:

3) the word “flour” doesn’t mean a “flower”;

4) the words “ careful and customer” don’t begin with the letter “k”;

5) we don’t write “ee” in the words “each, peanut and Easter”.

We like the words with double letters: “happiness, puzzle, cassette, wheel, embarrassed”. In the words “pudding, put and pull” we don’t write “oo”. And the word “always” doesn’t look like “all”. The word “pumpkin” doesn’t end in “-king”. Each of us will write correctly the four brothers: “trouble, double, country and cousin”. We hate the following words but we must know them: “awful, earthquake, horrible, dangerous, terrible, dizzy, traffic jam”. Our girls like the words: “a secret romance, romantic, lovely, recipe, strawberries, Valentine’s Day

and love message”. Our boys like the words: “necessary, upside down, exercise, Halloween, mythology, royal treasures, photography, forward and crazy”. Naturally, our teachers will like the way we have written the dictation.

The textbook “Open Doors-2”.

This clever book has taught us to write the names of musical instruments. While writing, we hear the sweet melodies of a violin, a flute, an oboe, a clarinet and a ‘cello. It is right to write the letter combination “ch” in the words: “orchestra, stomach and technology”.

But we read this letter combination as [k]. Everybody knows that the following words have the same beginning: “China, chocolate, chest and

Chinese”. We also know what letters are not read in the word “ muscle”.

In the word “substance” we haven’t made a mistake. We haven’t written the letter “e” after “t”, but we have written the first letter of the ABC. The words “accident” and “concert” have neither “k” nor “s”. The word “cymbals” has no “s”. The word “machine” has no “sh”. The word “vapour” is not the same as “paper”. It’s shame to misspell the word “rhythm”. Who doesn’t know that “foreign and reading” don’t have the same endings? Oh, the dictation was so easy! A Geography Lesson.
