УРОК З АНГЛІЙСЬКОЇ МОВИ (9 КЛАС)

ТЕМА: «ОДЯГ: СТИЛЬ І МОДА»

Мета:

Практична: удосконалювати навички читання, аудіювання, письма та усного мовлення учнів з теми;

Освітня: розширити кругозір учнів, поглибити знання учнів про відомих дизайнерів сьогодення та винаходи людства в галузі фешн індустрії;

Виховна: виховувати в учнів почуття краси і стилю та інтерес до моди;

Розвивальна: розвивати творчі здібності, пам’ять, увагу, вміння логічно і послідовно викладати свої думки;

Тип уроку: нетрадиційний урок-практикум

Форми роботи: групова, індивідуальна, фронтальна, парна

Інноваційні методи та інтерактивні технології, застосовані на уроці:

Обладнання: підручник з англійської мови для 9 класу (Буренко В.М. - Х.: Вид-во «Ранок», 2016), добірка прислів’їв та цитат про одяг, комп’ютер, презентація, дидактичний ілюстративний матеріал.

І. ПІДГОТОВКА ДО СПРИЙНЯТТЯ ІНШОМОВНОГО МОВЛЕННЯ

Т:   Good morning, pupils! Nice to see you! How are you?

Ps:  Nice to see you, too! We are fine, thank you.                 

     2. Повідомлення теми та мети уроку  

T:  Today we are going to speak about something interesting. Our life is impossible without it. During the lesson we’ll read about some facts of history, geography, etc. It will be today that you’ll get to know new expressions on this topic, learn proverbs and quotations. How do you think, what we’ll speak about? Let’s read the task and solve a crossword in order to know the theme of our lesson.     

     3. Уведення в іншомовну атмосферу. Розв’язання кросворду

Учні отримують картки (Task 1) с кросвордом і працюють в групах по троє-п’ятеро. Учитель контролює правильність виконання завдання. Група-переможець отримує «приз».

T: What is the topic of our lesson?

P:  Your Majesty Fashion.

T: Yes, you are right. Today we’ll speak about clothes, style and fashion. The motto of the lesson is “There is no bad weather, there are bad clothes”

T: What does a word “fashion” or “style” mean to you? 

Учні отримують картки (Task 2 – Fashion Mind-Map/Style Mind-Map) і працюють самостійно або в групах. Учитель контролює правильність виконання завдання. Переможець або група- переможець отримує «приз».

T: Do you like to buy clothes?

P: Yes, I do. Frankly speaking it’s my hobby. I can’t imagine my life without it. They say “Shopping is cheaper than a psychiatrist”.

T: Is it difficult or easy to choose good clothes in today’s world?

P: I can’t answer this question for sure. The English say, “If the shoe fits, buy it in every colour”.

T: Do you know any proverbs about clothes?

P1: Yes, I do. One of them says, “The fine art of acquiring things you don’t need with money you don’t have”

P2: A man is judged by his clothes.

P3: No fine clothes can hide the clown.

P4: Showy clothes attract most.

Charles Macintosh

(29 December 1766 – 25 July 1843)

Charles Macintosh was a Scottish chemist and the inventor of waterproof fabric. The Mackintosh raincoat (the variant spelling is now standard) is named after him.

Biography

Macintosh was born in Glasgow, Scotland, the son of George Macintosh and Mary Moore, and was first employed as a clerk. Charles devoted his spare time to science, particularly chemistry, and before he was 20 resigned his clerkship to take up the manufacture of chemicals. In this he was highly successful and invented various new processes. His experiments with naphtha (one of the byproducts of tar) led to his invention of waterproof fabric; the essence of his patent was the cementing of two thicknesses of cloth together with natural rubber. The rubber is made soluble by the action of the naphtha.

Macintosh married Mary Fisher in 1790, daughter of Alexander Fisher, a Glasgow merchant. They had one son, George Macintosh (1791–1848). In 1823, he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society for his chemical discoveries. In 1828, he became a partner with James Beaumont Neilson in a firm to exploit the latter's patent for the hot blast blowing of blast furnaces, which saved considerably on their fuel consumption.

Charles died in 1843 and was buried in the Glasgow Cathedral graveyard. He is buried with his parents in the ground of his great grandfather, John Anderson of Douhill, Lord Provost of Glasgow. His name is added to the 17th century monument which stands against the eastern boundary wall. A late 19th century secondary memorial also exists, in polished red granite, slightly to the north, where Charles is again mentioned on the grave of his son, George.

Legacy

On 29 December 2016, the search engine Google marked the 250th anniversary of the birth of the inventor of the waterproof raincoat with a Google doodle of Macintosh in the rain.
