Neo’s   trip

Once upon a time in a country a long way off there was a boy who was called Neo. He was very clever and inquisitive. He liked English very much and wanted to know more about the new words which appeared every day. So he decided to travel and find out how the new words appear.

  He decided to travel by ship and visit  towns that he would meet on the way. The first day he was sailing and saw a beautiful but old town. He wanted to know what new he could learn there. So he reached the shore and was walking along the streets. The buildings were very old, they had  antique ornaments and stained glasses.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Suddenly he saw the biggest building in the town. He came in and saw a lot of books. There were not hundred of them, there were more than thousand books. He realized that it was a library.

Neo noticed the man between the book shelves, the man fussed. He called the man and asked him to explain where he was. The man said that his name was Aphix and he was a librarian.

 

 

 

 

 

But  he was an unusual librarian. His task was to continue the lives of old words. He made the new ones by English traditions. He said that the Queen had given him this task. Aphix told Neo everything about his work and presented him with the universal book of new words and asked him to spread those words.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Neo continued his trip. The next town was older than previous.

 

 

 

 

But inhabitants were dressed in the modern clothes. They weren’t the lush dressed, they wore usual trousers and blouses or shirts. It was a lovely place. Neo was enjoying their atmosphere but then he understood that he got lost.

 

 

 

 

Two people near the bakery saw him and offered him their help. It was a couple. His name was Rory and her name was Penny. They proposed him to go to their house and drink some tea. When they were drinking tea Rory and Penny told Neo that they were elected by the Queen. They made the new words  by adding  two or three different words together. They often had to create the new words of political nature. In the end of tea drinking they presented him with some cakes that were decorated by words made of chocolate.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The third city was very different from previous two towns. There were many skyscrapers and many modern cars and buildings. Neo was too excited when he saw all of them. He saw many shops, museums, cinemas and everything was strange to him.

He walked in the stately building and it seemed that it was made of glass and everything was so clear and white.

One man with a strange hat came to Neo and asked him  what he needed. Neo said that he wanted to know more about English. The man smiled and introduced himself. His name was Telly, he was rookie in the kingdom but he was very useful. He took two words as a  part of every of these two words and connected them together. Neo was so amazed that he began to dream about the gob like this but those thoughts were continuing for a minute. Telly gave him a strange little thing which was like a glass black tablet. He said that he could set different words there and they would be always with him. Neo had pressed the button and it turned on. He saw many words on the screen there were implications of Telly’s work. Then the man just disappeared but Neo didn’t notice it. He was very captured by learning the new words.
  Neo decided to hike. He was walking and he wanted to sleep.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Suddenly he saw a town but he was too tired to know about that place and he just found a lovely hotel and felt asleep. In the morning he saw that the town was full of grey colours, it seemed that it was always going to rain there. But in spite of this, the town was special, and Neo didn’t understand why.

He walked to have dinner and he heard that the people said some words which he knew but they said them in different way. He asked an old  woman about it, and she explained that it was the town called “Conversion” and people always changed the words and created the nouns, the verbs and adjectives there. After that Neo understood why that town attracted him. He was charmed by the town and started to visit theatres, museums and bought the magazines to learn more.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

   It was snowing and hard to walk. He didn’t see any towns near but after a while he saw a little house and it was nothing around it. So there was cold and Neo walked in the house.

 

 When he came in he saw that the house was bigger inside. There were many little men and Neo even thought that he came into Santa’s house, but when he looked on their clothes he realized that it didn’t. All of them looked very busy. Neo tried to speak with one but the man didn’t listen to him. There were many papers and it was interesting for Neo and he took one, and saw many word combinations which were written on the paper, they consisted of simple words but together they had different meaning. Men even didn’t notice Neo. So he took some such papers with words and in the morning he went to another town.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  Neo heard the noisy sounds, they sounded from the sixth town, it was the last town in the kingdom. People were celebrating something and everything was decorated by flowers and ribbons as it turned out it was celebration of a language day, and everybody from other towns and the Queen were there.

 

Everybody was dancing and Neo noticed two middle-aged men who he had never met before. He approached to them and introduced himself, men were very glad because they heard about Neo from their friends. The name of the first man was Analog and the name of the second man was Akro.

Analog had an important role in the kingdom and he told Neo about his experience. Akro told Neo how he loved his work because he could make the long phrases into the shirt ones using the first letters of each word in phrase.

Neo decided to set their words to Telly’s gift.
