That’s right today we are going to speak about families, but families from different countries. So the 1t group is a Ukrainian family, the 2d is an American one and the third is British.
T. –. Now let’s check your home assignment. It was to give your advice to a dilemma “Should I throw him out?” Please, do it.
Presentation 3d page
Read the dilemma and give your advice to Sarah
Should I throw my son out?
Sarah's 24-year-old son lives at home, stays in bed till late, and watches TV all day. He buys and sells drugs. He is clever, but he dropped out of school. He's never had a job. His father wants to throw him out, but Sarah worries that he could get further into drugs and end up in prison.
Presentation 4th page
Ukrainian team – Children always need the support of their parents, whether they're four or 24.I think she should pay for him to get some qualifications, and when he's ready, to find somewhere to live. Meanwhile, she should give him all the love that he needs.
American team – He's using her. I think he is very lucky. It's time for him to go. Twenty-four is too old to be living with his parents. He's got to take responsibility for himself. And she must tell the police about his drug-taking. Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind.
British team – If you ask me it’s very important to support children and I don’t think he is using Sarah. But 24 is really high time when children live their homes and start independent lives. If he doesn’t do it he will never know what he has missed.
