Тема: The Days of the Week. School Subjects

Мета:  повторити та активізувати ЛО з теми;

•              навчати діалогічному мовленню за темами;
•              активізувати вживання запитання What day is it today?;
•              розвивати інтерес до вивчення англійської мови.

Обладнання: підручник, робочий зошит, тематичні малюнки, презентація, вправи “Match the days of the week with their transcriptions” (HO₁),  “Make school subjects” (HO₂), “Word Game” (НО₃)

Хід уроку.

І. Підготовка до сприйняття іншомовного мовлення.

1. Greeting and Aim.

T: Good morning, good morning! How are you? How are you?

Ps: Good morning, dear teacher! We are fine, thank you!

T: I am glad to see you again! Prepare for the lesson and take a sit.

T: Today at the lesson we’ll continue to speak about the days of the week and school subjects.

At the lesson you will read, speak on this topic, listen to the text and answer the questions, do interesting exercises and learn new words.

By the end of the lesson you’ll be able to talk about the days of the week, about your school subjects.

2. Phonetics exercises.

T: Look at the blackboard. Let’s memorize the pronunciation next sounds:

[i:] teacher, reading, season, clean, please

[æ] bag, blackboard, Maths, Saturday

[ʌ] summer, colour, Sunday, Monday, sum

3. Warming up.

1. Pre-reading Activity

T: Our lesson’s topic is “The days of the week”. First I’ll give you handouts and you have to match the days of the week with their transcriptions.

T: So, let’s check your work. Read the word and its transcription.

T: Look at the blackboard. We can see this task.

T: Now let us play game “Jumbled letters”. I’ll give you handouts and you have to make school subjects. What subjects do you know? Look at the board and let’s name them.

2. While-reading Activity

T: Well done. Now let’s open your books, listen and read the dialogue. (Учні слухають аудіозапис та читають вправу)

T: So, do you understand this dialogue? Let’s read. Who wants to read?

3. Post-reading Activity

T: Now let’s answer the questions according to the text.

• What day is in this text? (Tuesday)
• What lesson does Nick like? (Nick likes Sport.)
• What lesson does Bill like? (Bill likes Maths.)
• Why does Bill like Maths? (Because he likes counting and doing sum.)

3. Physical Activity.

T: Let’s sing the song “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toys” and do exercises.

4. Writing

T: Now let us do exercise. Open your workbook and do exercise 1. Look at the table and make up dialogues. For example,

- I like Maths very much, but my favourite lesson is Sport.

- I like Art very much, but my favourite lesson is English.
