Урок з англійської мови у 6 класі

на тему «Подорож»

 

 Тема уроку .      Подорож.  Переваги і недоліки різних видів

                             подорожей.

                         

Мета уроку: закріпити та активізувати лексичні оди­ниці з теми «Подорож»; акти­візувати вживання модального дієслова should; навчати учнів використовувати вивчений лексич­ний та граматичний матеріал у різних ситуаціях; формувати комунікативні компетентності учнів у процесі опанування іноземної мови; вчити учнів взаємодіяти в парах та групах; вдосконалювати на­вички, розвивати вміння читання, аудіювання, мов­лення та письма;розвивати логічне мислення, зоро­ву пам'ять; виховувати зацікавленість до вивчення іно­земної мови, культуру спілкування іноземною мо­вою, естетичний смак та особисті якості учнів.

Тип уроку: комбінований.

Обладнання: наочний матеріал з теми, літачки та потяги для поділу на групи, роздавальний матеріал, мультимедійна презентація.

I. The Introducing Part of the Lesson.

1.  Greeting.

T. Good morning, children! I am glad to see you!

Ps. We are glad to see you too!

T. This lesson is unusual for you and for me. You can see many guests. They are

teachers.  I hope that our co-operation will be successful. I want to ask you to be attentive and active. Don’t be afraid, don’t be silent.  Speak and express your opinion.  OK, look at each other, please. Smile! Look at me. Smile! So, let’s start our communication.

 

2. Introducting of the topic. Aim.

T. So, what are we speaking about today? Today we’ll do different tasks. Yes, we continue our work on the topic “Going to the trip ” . Аt this lesson try to do your best to show and improve your knowledge. We shall review the material we have learned during this theme the vocabulary on the topic "Travelling” and grammar  material modal verb «should».And the main thing – you will work out some advise for travelers. Our aim is to get ready for a trip: to pack your suitcase with proper clothes and items, to know the rules to keep during a trip, to know the signs and symbols you may find in a strange place, to ask for information about the cruise and to speak about countries which we like to visit.

 3. Warming –up

1) T. First of all ask at my question: Why do people travel?

 People travel because they want to visit new countries.-

  on business. –

 to get new impressions.

 - to meet new friends.

- to study at a university.

 -to earn much money.

- to visit our relatives.

– to know more.

– to relax)

 

2. T. OK. You know that we can’t travel without transport.  Look at the picture and try complete the word-web with kinds of transport . But it is not easy as you think. First of all you have to take a piece of paper with   a riddle, read it, try to guess  the kinds of transport and take a picture  that can illustrate your answer.

 

    

This is a house on wheels is running a race,

 Taking people from place to place.  (A bus)

 

 When it is driven it goes,

When it stops, it falls down.  (A bike)

 

What is it? That has no wheels

And leaves no tracks on the water behind it?  (A boat)

 

Through not a bird, not a butterfly,

 I can fly high up in the sky. (A plane)

 

II. The Main Part of the Lesson.

  1. Practicing vocabulary. Work in pair.

Game «Things for my travelling».

T. Travelling around the world is impossible without clothes and other items. People can’t leave without them. Let’s pack our luggage! What we need for our trip?

 Cards: shorts, gloves, boots, a blouse, sandals, a dress, a hat, a swimsuit, a ski-suit, jeans, a T-shirt, a skirt, a sweater, a scarf, a phrase book, a toy, money, a travel document, a passport, a return ticket, a single ticket, a bus pass, a camera,  a ball).

Image, that you are going to visit …

.(The  Carpathians, in winter, by bus );

 (The Azov Sea, in summer, by car);

 (The United  Kingdom of Great Britain, in autumn, by plane).

Example:

  • I’m going to take a camera, boots, a ski-suit, a sweater and a money. What are you going to take?
  • I’m going to take gloves, a scarf, a toy, a bus ticket.

 

  1. Speaking . Group Work.

T. Do you know that good beginning makes a good ending. So you should know some rules to avoid difficulties while travelling. You will work in groups. Each group gets a task.  You thing, discuss and suggest your ideas to the class. And now let’s  divide our class into two groups.  Choose one «egg», open it and here you’ll find the plane or the train. Planes - I group, Trains - II group.

1) Pre-Listening activity.

T. For planning a trip is very important to know the place whish you want to visit. Some people decide it with their families and other attend the travel agents.  Do you listen something about travel agents? What information can we get there?

2) While –Listening activity

T. Watch the video “At the travel agent” and complete  of the dialogue . Use the  words and phrases  from the box given below.

- Good morning, sir! How can I help you?

- Well, I have some time off from work next month and I was thinking of going to Australia.

- Hm, that sounds great. How long is your vacation?

- Just one week. My last day at work is the 26th of July and I go back on the 5th of August.

- OK. Here’s our Sydney brochure. Have a look and see if there’s a hotel that you like.

 - Oh, this one’s good. “The Four Seasons Hotel”. It’s expensive but I’ve been told it’s very nice.

 - Yes, It’s a very high-class hotel. I’m sure you’ll enjoy your stay there. Would you like me to make a booking now, sir?

 - Yes, please.

 

- Good morning, sir! ……..

- Well, I have some time off from work next month and I was thinking of going to…………..

- Hm, that sounds great. How long is your vacation?

1) Pre-reading  activity

T. When people are travelling they usually want to visit some popular countries. Do you want to visit any country? Can you name it? But before visiting some country  you have to know how to say «Hello». Look at this video and let’s repeat this word in any languages.

2) While-reading activity

 

KATTY’S JOURNEY TO EUROPE

     First Katty went by plane to Britain. It rained in Britain. She saw Tower Bridge on the River Thames in London and she ate some British fruit cakes.

     Then Katty went by boat to France. It snowed in France. She saw the Eiffel Tower in Paris-it was very high. And she ate some French cheese.

      Then Katty went to Spain by car. It was very hot and sunny in Spain. Katty saw a beautiful Spanish beach. She ate some Spanish oranges.

      Next Katty went by bus to Italy. It was sunny and hot in Italy too. Katty saw the Leaning Tower in Pizza- it’s a very strange building. She ate some Italian pizza.

      Then Katty went by train to Greece. It was very windy in Greece. Katty saw the Parthenon in Athens-it’s a very old and beautiful building.

T. Ex. 2 p. 113. At the beginning of our  lesson  you divided into two groups and our hometask will be for two groups.  Read one of the text from a guidebook and take notes to answer the questions. Then share the information  with another group.

T. Our lesson is coming to the end . Thank you for your hard work at the lesson. I should say you worked well and were very active. Now I know that you are ready  for a trip.
