Class: 3B
Subject of the lesson: My home. Preposition of place.
Objectives:
1. to encourage pupils to speak about the house;
2. to develop pupil’s reading, speaking, listening and writing skills by doing tasks;
3. to practice the preposition of the place (on, in, under, above, below, next to, behind, in front of, opposite);
4. to develop pupils’ ability to work in groups.
5. to motivate pupils to learn English.
Expectations: by the end of the lesson pupils will be able to say about the rooms in the house and to describe each of them using prepositions of the place;
Equipments: presentations: “Reading. Choose the preposition”, flashcards and posters “My home”, poster and pictures “Brawl stars”, video “Tooty Ta”, handouts: coins and bookmarks “Brawl Srars”.
Lesson Procedure
Т.: Hello, my dear friends! Welcome to our computer game. You know it very well. It’s your favourite one. What game is it? Yes, “Brawl Stars”!!!
T: Today we have got an unusual lesson. The topic of our today's lesson is "My home". During our lesson we are going to speak about a house and rooms. You will sing, work in groups of 4 pupils and do a lot of different interesting activities. So, be active, attentive, work together, play together and win together. Enjoy our English lesson.
T.: There are small “Brawl Stars” boxes on your desks. You have to do the tasks, get coins (one correct answer is one coin) and exchange them for a “Brawl Stars” hero. Good luck! (див. додаток 4)
T.: Where do you live? In a flat or in a house?
Let's revise the names of rooms you know!
T.: Well, pupils! And now try to say the things they are in different rooms. Use the structure “There is/ There are”. (див. додаток 1)
Pre-Reading
T: Let’s revise the preposition of the place: on, in, under, above, below, next to, behind, in front of, opposite. Look! There is a bin below the board.
While-Reading. Group work. (див. додаток 2)
T: You can watch an interactive presentation on the board. Your task is to read a sentence, look at the picture and then choose a preposition. Try to work in your group and get coins. One correct answer – one coin.
Post-Reading
T: So, where is the bin? It’s next to the cupboard.
Where are books? They are on the shelf.
Pre-Listening
T: Now we can do a very interesting exercise. Open your books at page 50. There are two houses on this page: A and B. We are going to listen to the description of one room and choose where is it: in house A or in house 2.
There are some plickers cards on your desks. If you think the correct answer is house A, raise your cards with As up. If you think the answer is house B, raise your cards with Bs up. We will listen twice.
Be attentive!
T: For example. There is a basement in a house A and in a house B. Listen to the audio and find out where is the lamp. Let’s start! (див. додаток 5)

T.: For each correct answer you get one coin. Check up you answers with the “Plickers”

T.: What do you like more: a clean house or a messy house?
Now we are going to create our messy rooms. I‘ll give you one of the room posters but it’s empty. You have got small boxes with some house things in them. You take one of them and stick where you like on the poster. Then describe your messy rooms on white papers. Make up the sentences using the grammar structure there is/there are.

T.: Show us your rooms. What a mess! Now read your sentences. Who would like to start?
