розвивати уміння узагальнювати вивчений матеріал;
розвивати уміння логічно висловлювати свою думку на англійській мові;
розширювати кругозір учнів;

виховувати любов та зацікавленість до читання на англійській мові;

Обладнання: ноутбук, проектор, екран, запис відео, презентація в програмі Power Point, роздавальні картки для перевірки розуміння аудіювання.

T – Good morning dear boys and girls. Good morning dear guests. Today we are going to have an interesting lesson: we are going to speak about a great poet and playwright William Shakespeare. I hope you will help me to do it. The theme of our lesson is «William Shakespeare - a great poet and playwright »

The aim of our today’s lesson is to learn more about this great man and we shall begin with the words you see on the screen

«All world’s a stage, and all the men and women merely players»

(As You Like It Act II, Scene 7)

А writer – письменник;

А poet- поет;

To be born – народитися;

The Globe Theatre – театр “Глобус”;

Plays – п’єси ;

Comedies – комедії;

Historical plays – історичні п’єси ;

A player- актор;

3.Бесіда про поета.( Учні відповідають на запитання вчителя, використовуючи тематичну презентацію.)

T – So, let’s start. Look at the fіrst slide (слайд 1). Here is the portrait of W.Shakespeare. What was he?

P- He was а poet, a playwright, a writer, a dramatist.

T- Where was he born? ( слайд 2)

P- W. Shakespeare was born in Stratford-upon-Avon.

T- What kind of education did he get?( слайд 3)

P- He got a good classical education at King’s New School.

4.Розвиток уміння висловлювати свою думку.(Учні висловлюють свою думку і виправляють неправильні відповіді)

T – Now, children let’s remember the phrases expressing agreement and disagreement and say whether you agree with the following statements or not (слайд 4). Begin your sentence with one of these combinations; try not to repeat your classmates.

Shakespeare’s father was a farmer. (F)
Shakespeare went to the University.(F)
He was well- educated. (T)
He married when he was old. (F)
Shakespeare had a twin-son and a twin- daughter. (T)
He had only 2 children. (F)
Shakespeare started to write plays in Stratford-on-Avon. (F)
He became a popular dramatist. (T)

T- Pupils, what theatre in London is connected with W. Shakespeare?

Yes, you are right - the Globe Theatre. Do you want to learn more facts about it? Then watch the video and be ready to tell me what new facts you have learnt (слайд 5).( перегляд відео)

6. Повторне прослуховування і перевірка розуміння тексту та виконання вправ на заповнення пропущених слів)

T- How was the video ? Did you understand anything? I hope you did understand something . Let’s check it. Try to answer my questions.

T-Is this a modern or an old theatre?

P- This is old theatre.

T- When was the original theatre built?

P-The original theatre was built in 1599.

T- When did it burn?

P – It burnt down in 1613, during a performance of Henry VIII.

T- Good ! Now listen again and fill in the missing words you hear in the interview.

Письмове завдання:

The Globe is a recreation of Shakespeare’s original theatre, which burnt down in _______. It opened to public ______ years ago. The theatre has a curved ______ and is unusual because it has no ________. There are approximately_________ performances every year to audiences of about ________ people. They do a variety of plays by Shakespeare and his new plays too.( Keys: 1613, 15,auditorium, roof, 300, 1500, contemporaries)

7.Розвиток навичок монологічного мовлення:

T- Ok. It’s great. Let’s sum up what you new facts have learnt from this video.

(Учні висловлюються по черзі, починаючи зі слів I have learnt that …..)

8. Бесіда про п’єси У.Шекспіра.

T – Can you name some of Shakespeare’s plays? Have you read any of them in English ? In Ukrainian? ( слайд 7) . Would you like to read about Shakespeare’s plays ? Let’s do it.

9. Хвилинка релаксації.( Учні слухають аудіозапис)

10. Удосконалення навичок читання та монологічного мовлення.(Робота в групах)

T – How are you ? Fine? We go on. Now you are going to read the summary Romeo and Juliet. But the paragraphs are jumbled up ( mixed) in it. You must number them in it the correct order, read the story and then tell us what this play is about. You will work in groups of 4. Join each other and start, please .

Now let’s check and read (8-10).

T- You have done a good job of ! Now you know a lot about this great man and at home you must prepare a topic about W. Shakespeare and be ready to say him as possible ( слайд 11) . You all worked hard, your marks…
