  •          Envelopes with items or pictures (coins, cross, nail, crown, sponge, ripped fabric, stone, cloth, empty envelope)
  •          Craft supplies (colored paper, markers, scissors)
  •          Easter eggs (plastic or chocolate)
  •          Worksheets for vocabulary and crafts
  •          Flashcards with Easter-related words

Lesson Outline

  1.       Introduction (10 minutes)
    •          Begin by discussing what Easter means to the children. Ask them to share what they know about Easter traditions.
    •          Introduce key vocabulary: Easter egg, Easter bunny, chocolate, basket.
  2.       Easter Story Activity (15 minutes)
    •          Hide envelopes containing items or pictures around the classroom or outdoor area. Each envelope corresponds to a part of the Easter story.
    •          As children find each envelope, discuss its significance:
      •          Coins: Talk about Judas's betrayal.
      •          Cross: Discuss the crucifixion.
      •          Nail: Explain its symbolism in the story.
      •          Crown: Relate it to Jesus as King.
      •          Sponge: Mention the vinegar offered to Jesus.
      •          Stone: Discuss the resurrection.
  3.       Craft Activity (15 minutes)
    •          Have children create their own Easter cards or decorations using craft supplies. Encourage them to incorporate learned vocabulary into their designs.
  4.       Easter Egg Hunt Game (15 minutes)
    •          Organize a traditional Easter egg hunt where children search for hidden eggs.
    •          To make it educational, incorporate a "Where's My Egg?" activity where students write directions for finding their hidden eggs.
  5.       Wrap-Up Discussion (5 minutes)
    •          Gather the children and review what they learned about Easter.
